UK Column always had successful meetings before the likes of Britain First and The British Resistance web site jumped on their bandwagon. They are an apolitical group of well intentioned people. Unfortunately wherever the far right go the far left are not far behind and if UK Column continues to let the far right hijack it’s cause, they too will be tarnished with the same brush.

The Freedom Democrats supports individual campaigns by UK Column where appropriate but not universally, neither will we formally link ourselves to them, in doing so respecting their apolitical status.

The best thing UK Column can do is to tell Britain First and The British Resistance to “Get off our bandwagon”.

Will Boris’s airport island ever take off?

Boris Island, well not really an island, more of a peninsula off the north Kent coast near the Isle of Sheppey. This is Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s latest attention seeking idea to increase capacity in London’s airports. A piece of land reclaimed from the Kent mud flats to build London’s fourth airport with major road and rail links into the capital. A 20 year project with an estimated cost of £50 billion.

An idea not as far stretched as first seems as it is not the first time such a proposal has been put forward. Growing up in Southend on Sea I recall another such plan at Foulness Island off the Essex coast to build what would then be London’s third airport. They even went as far as reclaiming land on the Maplin sand banks to test for erosion which was clearly visible from Southend beach on a clear day as I was playing in the famous Southend mud. It never went ahead and the government opted to expand Stansted as London’s third airport. Many people at the time believe that was always the preferred option and Foulness was a decoy to show they had exhausted every other possibility.

In 2008 the newly elected Mayor of London, Boris Johnson tried to resurrect the Foulness option but the idea never got off the ground. (pun intended).

Timing is always important in politics and with the Mayoral elections due in May 2012 and the Tories not being every Londoners’ cup of tea at present our Boris needs a vote winning gimmick. You see the people of north Kent can’t vote for Boris or any other mayoral candidate, so he can suggest whatever he wants for outside of the capital. The people of west London however will vote for him if he comes up with a cunning plan to limit any further expansion at Heathrow.

Boris Island contains several flaws but I suspect our Boris already knows that, being an ex Eton boy. Apart from a being one of Britain’s few remaining natural wetlands there is the small issue of the SS Richard Montgomery.

A US munitions ship, it sunk in the Thames in 1944 containing 15,000 tons of high explosives. It is still there, less than a mile from the site of Boris’s proposed airport. The reason it is still there is because the safest option is to leave it well alone. It has been said that if it ever went off it would take out every window in Southend, 4 miles away.

Of course Southend has its own airport. Not a large one until recently bought by Stobarts of Eddie Stobart fame. Southend airport has just had its runway extended at considerable cost which involved the re-routing of a major road to enable the larger passenger jets to land. Stobarts have also built a new passenger rail terminal at the airport on the London Liverpool Street line which runs through to the Olympic village at Stratford. A new air passenger terminal and hotel are under construction due for completion in time for the Olympics. What a splendid way of showing that you can fly in thousands of passengers in a short space of time and have them in central London an hour after landing.

What I can say is that vacancies arise frequently on Town and Parish councils so you don't always have to wait until the next round of elections. You need to keep checking local council web sites or local press to find out when these vacancies occur.

RIP Tammy

Sometimes in life we have to make real difficult decisions. One of the hardest is ordering the end of a life for a long time family pet. But sometimes we keep animals alive purely for selfish reasons when if we think only of the pet the decision is easy. And so this last Tuesday we made that decision for Tammy.

A soft haired wheaten terrier, she was put into a dogs home twice in her first two years. We rescued her from the RSPCA dogs home in Bath in 2003 when she was two and found it hard to understand why she was ever in a dogs home in the first place as no one could want for a nicer pet.

Not used to living in a house nearly proved fatal as in the first few weeks she ran head first into a closed patio door, collapsing her neck vertebrae, causing polarises from the neck down. The vet didn't expect her to last the night but we took her home and cared for her, took her to hydrotherapy and over time regained the use of her legs. When you take on a dog you take it on for it's whole life and don't give up on it just because it's going to cost a lot of money.

She lasted another 8 years although the strain of that first accident gradually took it's toll on her mobility. However in later life she also developed thyroid problems and Cushings disease (liver) and when at the week end she stopped eating, unusual for Tammy, I suspected this was the end. Had we not taken that decision she would have suffered multiple organ failure, probably at night when we could do little for her and died a painful death. We spared her that fate and she went to sleep with dignity.

If there was a definition of political correctness it would be that opposite points of view are not allowed. In which, case I am definitely politically incorrect.

But is there ever a time when expressing your opposite point of view is wrong?

In the case of the written word we all have the option of not to read it and in the broadcast word we have the option to use the on/off switch.

What if your audience doesn’t want to hear what you have to say and has no way of not hearing it? What if in their opinion they find what you are saying deeply offensive and insulting and have no way of escaping your abuse?

Does their right not to hear you override your right to say it anyway?

The recent case of Ms Emma West on a south London tram spouting of a tirade of abuse to anyone who was not British and white was a perfect example of the phrase – You have the right to your own opinion just keep it to yourself.

As you can see in the video below she takes exception to the amount of black and foreign people sharing her tram ride. To her they had no right to even be on the same tram as her let alone share her country with her. What she didn’t consider was how many of those she was abusing were tourists here on holiday and how many were actually born in this country and would have no other country to call home if she got her wish to send them “home”.

It is of no surprise to hear that Ms West is currently on remand in jail awaiting sentence for this public order offence and her children, one of who was sitting on her lap during her outburst are in care while her future freedom is decided on by the courts.

I believe in free speech but I also believe in a person’s right not to hear what you have to say.

English Defence League to merge with British Freedom Party

Suspicions that the takeover of the British Freedom Party (BFP) by a new group of ex UKIP led by Paul Weston was merely a dumbing down exercise to white wash over the party’s extreme links have been confirmed with news that high level talks between the English Defence League (EDL) and BFP have taken place at a secret West Midlands location.

It was always the outgoing chairman’s, Peter Mullins, wish to forge close links with the EDL as he saw them as a potential work horse for the BFP’s activism and a potential voter base. As a softener the BFP web master, Simon Bennett designed the EDL’s new web site for them “on the cheap” .

However with the BFP already tarnished with BNP links, for the EDL to merge, the BFP would have to cleanse itself of any former BNP members, and so it was that all the ex BNP executive council stepped down into the background with such excuses as “to write my novels” or “concentrate on my career”. One even claimed to have gone back to the BNP but is still a regular contributor to the BFP internet forum. Of course they are still there, just not so visible now to any outsider looking in.

Is this a wise move politically for either side? From the outset the EDL was targeted by left wing organisations such as Unite Against Fascism (UAF) and Searchlight for being a far right neo Nazi outfit with close links to The National Front and BNP. Whether it is or isn’t is immaterial, the mere accusation is enough to turn away any moderate thinking citizen concerned at the state of the country.

For a political party with serious aspirations of gaining wide spread popular support such a move would be political suicide. The move may be of more benefit to the EDL than the BFP so long as the latter can keep it’s ex BNP former officials under cover.

The Freedom Democrats were formed by founder members of the BFP concerned that it was taking a path into political extremism. It appears now that their fears were not unfounded.

What's in a name?

A lot I think. When we formed The Freedom Democrats there was a lot of discussion and research on our final chosen name. Hard enough to comply with Electoral commission rules let alone find one that wasn't in use already by another political movement.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that "Britain First", a revamped campaign group from former BNP members started a political wing and called themselves the "National People's Party". Sounds like something you would get in the communist People's Republic of China.

A little bit of research would have revealed that a group already exists under that name and hardly ideal bed fellows, the original being hard line socialist and Marxist, the latter being just a little Nazi and racist. See for yourselves:

I like this No. 10 e-petition thing. It allows a house of Commons debate on a subject if 100,000 people sign up to it. Here is one that might be of interest to you.

The House of Lords risks ridicule and the loss of its credibility if it allows Baroness Uddin to resume her seat in April 2012. She was found to have claimed money to which she was not entitled and subsequently ordered to repay the sum of £125,000, which she has refused to do. This behaviour is not only unacceptable it is shameful that a supposed pillar of society can behave in this manner. A Lords sub-committee has stated that she should not be allowed back until the entire sum has been repaid. However, I believe her actions make her singularly unsuitable to sit in the upper house at all.

If any one of us had claimed £125,349.10 from our company on "expenses" and it was later found out by the same company that we claimed that dishonestly we would have been "sacked" and probably thrown in jail.

"Baroness" UDDIN claimed that amount of money from the public-purse and she has not paid one single penny back, despite the House of LORDS asking her very nicely; the House of LORDS later banned her, but left the door open for her to return after Easter 2012.

Petition Demand for Public’s Voice to be heard on Immigration

Migration Watch UK have today launched an e-petition calling on the government to stabilise the population of the UK and, certainly, to keep it well below 70 million.

The new official population projections issued last week show our population hitting 70 million in 16 years. This is on the assumption that net immigration will continue at 200,000 a year compared to almost 240,000 last year. The UK population was last estimated in 2010 at 62.3 million.

This population increase of more than 7 million is the equivalent of building seven cities the size of Birmingham or fourteen the size of Manchester or Bristol and about two thirds of it (just over 5 million) will be due to future immigration. Immigration will have to be sharply reduced to about 40,000 a year to stabilise our population.

Commenting, Sir Andrew Green, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said ‘Labour permitted foreign immigration of over three million in the face of strongly opposed public opinion. Politicians need reminding that this is an issue that is consistently one of the top concerns of voters and that it must be addressed, and soon. It is time to stop listening to those who support and, often, make money from the immigration ‘industry’ and consider the views of the people most directly affected. This, at last, is an opportunity for the man in the street to make his views heard where it counts.’

You'd wonder what all the fuss was about. A simple motion in parliament to let the people have their say on The European Empire. So scared of the potential result David Cameron has ordered a 3 line party whip which orders Tory MP's to vote with the government. Word in the corridors of Westminster is that many Tories are unhappy with this dictatorial form of leadership and could spell the end of Cameron's reign or the mass defection of Tories. The vote is on Monday 24th October.

A three-line whip is a strict instruction to attend and vote, breach of which would normally have serious consequences. Permission not to attend may be given by the whip, but a serious reason is needed. Breach of a three-line whip can lead to expulsion from the parliamentary political group in extreme circumstances and may lead to expulsion from the party. Consequently, three-line whips are generally only issued on key issues, such as votes of confidence and supply. The nature of three-line whips and the potential punishments for revolt vary dramatically among parties and legislatures.

Just too show I have a life outside politics here is a bit of showbiz for you.

In some cases yes but not all. Each should be decided on individual merit. Only now are some people including the show judges starting to suggest that 16 (the minimum age) may too young to deal with the showbiz pressure after 16 year old Luke Lucas broke down after being rejected for the live show stage of the competition after a pretty poor performance in front of Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams. But let’s not forget that Luke also put in a poor performance at Boot Camp stage and should have been eliminated then, yet the judges saw fit to progress him further. Any blame must surely fall at the judges for the over sight.

Freedom Democrats attend Die Freiheit conference in Berlin.

A delegation of the Freedom Democrats had the privilege of attending a conference of the German Freedom Party (Die Freiheit) in Berlin this week end.

Chairman Gary Marshall, Treasurer John Savage and Overseas representative David Taaffe represented the UK Freedom Democrats.

Top of the bill were guest speakers Rene Stadtkewitz (Die Freiheit party leader), Geert Wilders of The Dutch Freedom Party and Oskar Freysingerm of The Swiss Peoples Party.

The invitation from Die Freiheit to attend is seen as a mark of respect that our European sister parties have for the recently formed Freedom Democrats in the UK. The Freedom movement is sweeping across Europe and already with elected councillors in our ranks we are ideally suited to take that movement forward in the UK.

Chairman and party leader Gary Marshall, a parish councillor in North Devon said. “It is a great honour to be in the same company as politicians such as Rene Stadtkewitz, Geert Wilders and Oskar Freysingerm. We have much in common but also there is much for us to learn from our European partners. I am fully committed to taking the Freedom Democrats to the same level as other European Freedom parties. The British political theatre is crying out for a non extremist nationalist party that puts the interests of its own citizens first. The Freedom Democrats are that party”.

Many people have offered a cause of the recent riots and most including our own writers and this author have been almost spot on, but without asking one of the rioters themselves maybe we shall never have the exact answer.

There are those on the extreme of British politics who used the mayhem to further their racist ideals by placing the blame solely on black people, not seeing the obvious that there were also black people who did not riot and white people who did riot.

David Starkey, an eminent historian caused a bit of a stir on the BBC’s Newsnight programme when he put the cause down to the whites becoming black, because they speak black as in “yer kna what I mean Mon”. He then went on to accuse a black MP of sounding white. David Starkey obviously doesn’t know that many black people because actually black people do not speak that way, not the ones I know. It is a new language of the street or street talk whether they are black or white.

It is a new class of people we as a nation have produced. Britain has always been ridden with class status and now we see a new class emerging that cannot or will not fit in to the upper, middle or working categories. They are a class all to themselves, an underclass who do not wish to conform to normal practices of behaviour such as respect for other people and property. They have no respect for the law but expect that same law to protect them when they become victims.

“I don’t like being told what to do” is a common complaint from them because they have never been told what to do by a parent, liberal minded school teacher or social worker. In a way they are victims of neglect, neglected by a society that refused to put rules and boundaries before them. Instead they have been brought up over a decade or more of liberalism that tells them if it feels good just do it. Now we are reaping what we have sown.

One writer who is probably spot on is The Daily Mail’s Melanie Phillips who in her article Britain's liberal intelligentsia has smashed virtually every social value sums up the moral collapse we are facing. She blames the breakup of the traditional two parent family where the father is now missing. From this point it would be easy to go on and blame the single mother but let’s bear in mind that the majority of single mothers are not single by choice. Some may be widowed or divorced; others may well have had children thinking that their male partner would stay for the long term only to find he has gone at the first sign of any required commitment. They may try again with another male partner and again so they have three or more children by three or more fathers, and if these children don’t know who their father is they could end up breeding with a half brother or sister not knowing that they share the same father.

It is important to note that Ms Phillips does not tar all lone parent families with the same brush admitting Of course there are many lone parents who do a tremendous job. But we’re talking here about widespread social collapse. And there are whole areas of Britain, white as well as black, where committed fathers are a wholly unknown phenomenon.

We are seeing the results of New Labour’s liberal socialism where it was sexist to suggest that a woman could not bring up children without the help of a man. It was anti feminist to suggest that a woman could not have children on her own and went on to be rewarded by the welfare state.

If we are to mend society we first have to mend the institutions that caused the break up. That includes the Church that was once the bastion of morality. Our education system, welfare system, justice system and social services are all in need of reform. We need to get fathers back into families and may have to teach them how to be fathers again. We must reward families so that they can have one parent at home when the children are at home. We will teach our children that they will do what they are told, because that is the way it always has been. We all have to do what we are told at some point because that is how a moral society works best.

Statement from John Savage, Treasurer of the Freedom Democrats in response to recent malicious allegations made by the Treasurer of the British Freedom Party.

Readers may be aware of the atrocious way that eleven founder and executive members, including the Treasurer and also the Membership Secretary, of the British Freedom Party (BFP) were unconstitutionally and ultra vires ‘expelled’ on 20th January 2011, and the resultant feud between the two factions.

Two weeks ago I became aware that a false and vexatious allegation of fraud and theft had been made to the police regarding the continued operation of the BFP’s bank account after the ultra vires notices were issued. Mr Simon Bennett, the new Treasurer of the BFP, stated in his usual prosaic style on the British Democracy Forum “After the telephone conversation I just had, that smugness from John Savage is soon to be wiped from his face. I do hope you haven't squandered all your divorce settlement, John, you're going to need a very good solicitor quite soon. Your ability to function as a political representative and a 'professional' accountant will come crashing down around you. It's those you dragged into your murky little activities that I feel sorry for, they only backed you out of sympathy and it is now going to cost them too. All in good time, John.”

A few days later the police contacted a colleague of mine, the former membership secretary of the BFP, requiring her to attend the local police station for interview on 31st August. That lady, a decent, honest, upright citizen and nationalist, who has never been interviewed by the police before, was distraught for several days regarding the matter, not because she has anything to hide, but simply because she was being made to feel like a criminal.

Not hearing from them, I contacted the police myself, a few days ago, as I had been dealing with the BFP’s finances following the extraordinary general members’ meeting of the 6th February, when the members attending unanimously elected me to be the Treasurer for the party, as I wished for the police to learn the facts and see the documentary evidence to support those facts.

On Wednesday 24th August, two detective constables arrived at my office around 1pm, and I asked if this interview was being conducted with me as a witness helping them with their enquiries, or as a suspect. To my amazement, and quite contrary to the rubbish spouted by Simon Bennett, they told me that my name (and I assume that of Mrs Marshall, the registered Treasurer of the BFP until the ElComms removed her name at the end of March) didn’t even come up in the allegations!!! As a result, they wouldn’t give me the full details of the allegations, but when I said I was assuming that Simon Bennett was saying that we were expelled on 20th January, yet were writing out cheques after that date so it must be ‘theft’, they made no denial.

I had prepared a big bundle of documents for them, going from the BFP constitution and the e-mail appointing Verity Blake as Disciplinary Officer ½ an hour prior to the ultra vires ‘expulsion’ notices, through to the notice of suspension of the BFP Chairman Mr Peter Mullins, the details of the members’ meeting of 6th February and then right up to the agreement of the BFP party manager, Mr Jim Ferrie to reimburse us our subscriptions. I produced the cheque book stub and bank statement, a copy of the latter being in the bundle of documents.

I made it quite clear to them that all this time, until around 31st March, Mrs Marshall’s name was on the ElComm website as the registered Treasurer, and we were simply reimbursing expenses incurred, such as stationery, postage, printer ink, hall hire etc. I told them how Messrs Mullins, Bennett, Barnes & co, the Executive Council members of the BFP, were having severe difficulties in opening a bank account, and that Lloyds refused to open a party account for them, I assume because of a poor credit rating. I told them how my understanding was that Lloyds had cancelled the cheque I gave Mullins for the balance of the account, and issued a bank draft to him instead.

I then produced evidence to them of the libel and abuse we have been subjected to, from the libellous website Mr Bennett had done attacking my professional integrity and business, proof that it was Simon Bennett that the domain name was registered to, extracts and examples of some of the comments made by certain members of the BFP Executive Council on the British Democracy Forum, particularly drawing the attention of the police to the pages where Simon Bennett had proudly informed the world that they were ‘investigating’ us, some example e-mails of the abuse and personal insults written by Mr Bennett to several of us, and also copies of my personal credit card statements showing the two unauthorised withdrawals of monies by Mr Bennett on 30th September and 11th October 2010.

The bundle of documents was about 15mm thick, so they took it away with them to have a study. I gave a little six line statement stating it was my bundle of documents. At around 1:45pm they left, and the following morning telephoned the lady they had called in to the police station for interview, advising her that they were taking the matter no further, as ‘theft and fraud’ had not occurred.

I got the impression that the police knew nothing about the truth of what had actually happened, apart from the simple lies told them by Bennett.

Respect and self discipline is needed.

As I have already stated it is far too simplistic and easy to blame the blacks for the looting. There were black and white looting and there were also black and white not looting. If we are going to kick anyone out of the country I would kick out all the bad and keep the good. The bad is made up of all races and so is the good.

I just wonder if anyone in government will think of doing a social-economic survey of all rioters who go through the courts? From the reports I have seen the age range is from 9 – 40. Some were unemployed but some were in up market employment. Many were under educated but some were doing A level and degrees. One teenage girl was our Olympic ambassador.

Will someone ask the question, why? I have been mulling it over and I believe that it is the sort of younger person that we as a society are allowing to develop. It is what I call the “am I bovvered” or “yeah whatever” type of attitude. It stems from one parent families perhaps with 3 children sharing the same mother but each with a different father. One mother cannot instil respect and self discipline on 3 children on her own, it has always been a team effort of two parents.

I was gobsmacked and I bet the BBC were too as it was live. I don’t agree 100% with what he says but he is closer to the mark than anyone else I think. He goes on about young whites adopting black Jamaican culture including the chav speak. I actually think it is young blacks trying to sound more white and young whites meeting them half way and sounding half black to produce a dialect that is slow with every syllable pronounced so e.g. “You kna what I mean mon it is typ-i-cal ov ma sit-u-at-ion”.

Actually black people from working and middle class backgrounds don’t speak like that. Yes they still have a distinct African accent but it is nothing like this chav speak we hear from either black or white.

We have allowed an underclass to develop amongst our young that some are now parents too, bringing their children up the same way they were brought up. We have it in my town but because it is a small town the problem is small. Multiply that a 100 times for a city and you can see the results.

The answer lies somewhere in the fact that if you are brought up in poverty you are likely to be under educated. If you are under educated you are likely to end up in poverty. The solution therefore lies in education and family values. Respect for others and self discipline.

Why the riots became escalated all over the country was our 24 hour live news coverage along with social networking. Everyone saw that the police got the tactics wrong on the first night where they stood off hoping to catch them later from CCTV. This gave the impression that you can get away with it and if you think you can get away with it you are more likely to do it.

Time to read the riot act but not in black and white.

As predictable as the tide the extreme right of British politics are quick to jump on the race bandwagon as an excuse for the ongoing riots in London and other cities. “Look they are all black see, send them all home” they scream from the hate filled web sites.

Such short memories they have if one casts back to the student loans protest of 2010 where the offenders were predominantly white and I didn’t hear any BNP supporter calling for all white students to be sent packing.

Adam Walker of the BNP states. “Although the news channels are hard at work portraying the perpetrators of these crimes as the victims, wheeling out black ‘community representatives’ who blame the ‘racist’ white police for black violence, the truth is that this is just the latest battle in the immigrant-on-indigenous war forced upon this country by those who aid and abet mass immigration.”

Wrong Mr Walker, you are not watching the same news channels as I am and I watch them all, except BNP news. There is no calling the perpetrators victims and no-one is blaming racist white police but it suits your agenda to pretend they are.

Let’s get things into perspective. The riots in Tottenham were started because the police shot a black man. Why and how will come out later at an inquiry as it always does but this started it all off. It is because the area is predominantly occupied by black people that it was black people rioting. Had it been a white man shot in a white occupied area I am sure the chances of a white riot would have been the same. Later riots throughout the cities were carried out by young people black and white with no respect for authority or other people’s property. They are merely copy cat riots urged on by social networking.

Equally black people were also the victims of the riots and black community leaders rather than calling their people victims were calling for stronger policing.

It is a battle of good and bad. White, black and Asian communities have their fair share of both but I am glad to say that all have a majority of good on their side. It is the vociferous minority that attract attention while the silent good goes by un-noticed.

The Freedom Democrats condemn the rioters but not because the majority appear black but because they are criminal. We also offer our sympathy to the victims black and white who have been hurt or lost property in these troubles. We also condemn the rhetoric of the far right who offer nothing to British politics other than to stir up racial tensions where they did not exist.

We have one criticism of the policing, it is too soft. Understandably though as a left wing liberal media is quick to condemn them for so much as raising a baton in the past and with the threat of the sack and/or court action and compensation if just one criminal receives a bump on the head. We fully support the use of water cannon, CS gas and if need be baton rounds and night time curfews.

Finally we call on the courts to use their maximum powers of sentencing to send these criminals to prison for a very long time.

Summer camping

This week end saw the first Freedom Democrat summer camp in a wind swept farm on the North Cornwall coast. My last camp would have been the infamous BNP summer camp in 2009. The camp of the golly burning so I am glad to report that there was no such incident at this camp and any under cover reporter would have found the whole event pretty un-newsworthy from a tabloid point of view.

What would have been seen is a friendly bunch of like minded political people catching up on personal news and discussing current political events in a way that would not offend even the most farthest left of political opponents.

It was not all politics though as some members travelling from further afield and not being familiar with the beautiful North Cornwall coastline took time out from politics to do some sight seeing.

First on the list was Port Isaac. TV Doc Marten fans will know this as the setting for the TV series. Sometime we can forget just how beautiful parts of England really are.

The next day a visit to Boscastle was a must to see the transformation post the 2004 great flood. (Video link)

Campaigning on road safety

Owning a local taxi company, I am fully aware of the dangers posed to pedestrians by traffic. When it comes to school children I takes it even more seriously.

Having seen several near misses by cars on school children, I have taken my campaign to the council chamber, the police, the school and the local press.

I am quoted here in the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: “For some time there have been flagrant breaches of traffic law at Corsham Primary School by parents parking illegally and causing a danger to pedestrians. This includes parking on double yellow lines, parking on pavements, parking on pedestrian walk ways forcing school children into the road and moving traffic.”

As well as press coverage, I have got the school to send letters out to parents and made the police aware who have promised to issue fixed penalties to offending drivers.

When you cross the line into extremism.

The recent British National Party leadership challenge couldn’t have ended in a worse way for them with the incumbent leader Nick Griffin winning by the narrowest of margins 50.2% - 49.8%, or a mere 9 votes. It has effectively split the party right down the middle with talk already from the losing half of forming a rival but respectable ethno-nationalist party.

There lies their problem because ethno-nationalism and respectability do not come out in the same breath. “Respectable ethno-nationalism” is an oxy-moron of the greatest type. In fact ethno-nationalism itself is a BNP phrase to make their brand of politics look acceptable. For the uninitiated, ethno-nationalists believe in dividing up the inhabitants of their country according to their skin colours. It is disrespectful and never respectful and the country has shown this at the ballot box over and over again. To further justify themselves they call the rest of us civic nationalists. Civic becomes a redundant adjective in front of nationalist because to be a national you have to be a citizen (civic).

Nationalism in its simplest form is showing support for your nation, country or culture. The ethno-nationalists as they call themselves have gone one step further to include people and that makes them ultra nationalist for they have crossed the line from respectability to extremism.

The recent sad events in Norway has given some of these ultra nationalist a chance to come out of their shell with some trying to find justification for the tragic events by blaming the Norwegian government, the media, the new world order and the Muslims. In fact blaming anyone but Anders Behring Breivik himself, clearly a psychopath and nutcase spurred on by right wing rhetoric on the internet particularly from the English Defence League and the British National Party. Whether one has sympathy for the EDL’s cause or not you have to remember that they were formed out of the football hooligans’ organisation Casuals United with its leader being a former BNP member with a conviction for assault on an off duty police officer. There are close ties between the EDL and BNP.

Even the newly formed British Freedom Party who pretends to have a degree of respectability have close links with the EDL with their own web master being the designer of the EDL’s web site and the BFP leader Peter Mullins is on record as seeing the EDL as a voter base and claimed in an email to supporters that Breivik couldn’t be a far right neo nazi because he was wealthy, upper middle class, university educated, business owning, multiple property owning, middle ranking free mason. A perfect description of BNP leader Nick Griffin.

Anders Behring Breivik didn’t only cross the line; he jumped into another dimension rarely seen in peace time. One of the island survivors is quoted as saying “He walked tall and proud just like a Nazi.” Without even being there most of us can imagine from that description the fear those young people must have gone through.
The young people he killed were up and coming potential politicians. Regardless of what you think of their views, they believed in the ballot box. Anders Behring Breivik believed in the bullet and the bomb. There is no excuse for murder.

It is what happens when you turn your hatred of something into a hatred of someone. Where nationalism may show a dislike for Islam, the EU or multi-culturism, ultra nationalism turns itself on the people.

The Freedom Democrats brand of modern nationalism is anti Islam but it doesn’t hate Muslims. We would prefer them to leave Islam and would offer support to those that do. It is anti European Union but doesn’t hate Europeans. It wishes to see a mono-cultural Britain but accepts that people previously from other cultures now live here. More importantly it recognises that Britain is now a multi-racial society and no amount of flag waving, rhetoric or violence is going to transform us back to a pre 1948 era.

Some BNP members looking for a new political home would not fit in to the Freedom Democrats without a radical shift in ideology. However those members with a BNP history will know of many, just like us, with a moderate outlook and are far from extreme, merely wishing to change the country by political means into one that is mono-cultural, independent from the EU nation and protected from mass immigration and colonisation by Islam. They would be welcome.

EU uses town twinning as route to European citizenship for all.

The European Union is in consultation with UK local and regional authorities on proposed European citizenship.

In the linked document The Council of European Municipalities and Regions invites local authorities to respond to the present consultation in view of the publication of a White Paper for a New European Citizenship. CEMR plans to present this document to the European Commission before the end of 2011 in order to ensure that the voice of local and regional authorities on the topics of European citizenship and town twinning is clearly heard.

The document specifically links twinning with a step towards a unified European citizenship. Here are some extracts from the document.

Town twinning was a founding instrument of European citizenship, which has been slowly forged through intercultural meetings, exchanges and partnerships.

The twinning movement, born of the need to reconcile nations after the war, played a fundamental role in the development of European citizenship.

the European twinning programme has been taking steps to adapt to this development which it considers desirable. In this regard, an evaluation has just been carried out by the European Commission. We believe that careful thought is now more necessary than ever in view of the next programming period beginning in 2014.

What happens in 2014? It is when the White Paper for a New European Citizenship, whose purpose is the formulation of proposals, in view of the European programme which will follow the current "Europe for Citizens” programme.

When questioned on the EU plans one Chairman of a Wiltshire Twinning Association informed us. “ I do not believe that the Twinning Association has ever entertained any political agenda. As far as our organisation is concerned, it provides the opportunity to enjoy friendship and the bon vivante of people with a different outlook”.

The Freedom Democrats strongly oppose any form of European citizenship and call for a referendum on the UK’s continued existence in The Union.

Neither do we believe that civic twinning associations should be used political tools to further the steps towards European sovereignty over the UK.

New poll - CCTV good or bad?

Is it 1984 Big Brother watching us or just modern technology keeping us safe? Certainly there are few places we can go where our presence there will not be recorded.

Do they help stop crime, catch criminals, prevent crime. Recent events seem to show that CCTV is able to plot criminals movements but after the event such as in the 7/7 bombings. It also can track the last movements of victims of crime such as Joanna Yeates in Bristol. Sadly in both cases it did nor prevent the crimes.

Contrary to popular belief the police do not spend all day watching CCTV screens looking for criminals to catch. Images are recorded and downloaded later to view after an event. Only in town centre areas are private security firms contracted to scan an area for anti social behaviour and report to the police.

Other recent advancements include automatic number plate recognition. (APNR). A system that instantly notifies the operator if a vehicle is stolen, uninsured or involved in a crime. Other than the police getting lucky and stopping a car to find out it is uninsured, there is no other way of catching uninsured drivers.

Of course with any system it is open to abuse from the State and with APNR cameras positioned on all major trunk roads and motorways the state has the ability to track the movements of anyone, including you and me. Of course there is the argument that if you have done nothing wrong why worry?

Mister President, members of the Court,

I am here because of what I have said. I am here for having spoken. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak. Many have kept silent, but not Pim Fortuyn, not Theo Van Gogh, and not I.

I am obliged to speak. For the Netherlands is under threat of Islam. As I have argued many times, Islam is chiefly an ideology. An ideology of hatred, of destruction, of conquest. It is my strong conviction that Islam is a threat to Western values, to freedom of speech, to the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals, of believers and unbelievers.
All over the world we can see how freedom is fleeing from Islam. Day by day we see our freedoms dwindle.

Islam is opposed to freedom. Renowned scholars of Islam from all parts of the world agree on this. My witness experts subscribe to my view. There are more Islam scholars whom the court did not allow me to call upon to testify. All agree with my statements, they show that I speak the truth. That truth is on trial today.
We must live in the truth, said the dissidents under Communist rule, because the truth will set us free. Truth and freedom are inextricably connected. We must speak the truth because otherwise we shall lose our freedom.

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

The statements for which I am being tried are statements which I made in my function as a politician participating in the public debate in our society. My statements were not aimed at individuals, but at Islam and the process of islamization. That is why the Public Prosecutor has concluded that I should be acquitted.

Mister President, members of the Court,

I am acting within a long tradition which I wish to honour. I am risking my life in defence of freedom in the Netherlands. Of all our achievements freedom is the most precious and the most vulnerable. Many have given their lives for freedom. We have been reminded of that in the commemorations of the month of May. But the struggle for freedom is much older.

Every day the armoured cars drive me past the statue of Johan de Witt at the Hofvijver in The Hague. De Witt wrote the “Manifesto of True Freedom” and he paid for freedom with his life. Every day I go to my office through the Binnenhof where Johan van Oldenbarneveldt was beheaded after a political trial. Leaning on his stick the elderly Oldenbarneveldt addressed his last words to his people. He said: “I have acted honourably and piously as a good patriot.” Those words are also mine.

I do not wish to betray the trust of the 1.5 million voters of my party. I do not wish to betray my country. Inspired by Johan van Oldenbarneveldt and Johan de Witt I wish to be a politician who serves the truth end hence defends the freedom of the Dutch provinces and of the Dutch people. I wish to be honest, I wish to act with honesty and that is why I wish to protect my native land against Islam. Silence is treason.

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

Freedom and truth. I pay the price every day. Day and night I have to be protected against people who want to kill me. I am not complaining about it; it has been my own decision to speak. However, those who threaten me and other critics of Islam are not being tried here today. I am being tried. And about that I do complain.

I consider this trial to be a political trial. The values of D66 [a Dutch leftist liberal party] and NRC Handelsblad [a Dutch leftist liberal party] will never be brought before a judge in this country. One of the complainants clearly indicated that his intentions are political. Even questions I have asked in parliament and cooperation with the SGP are being brought as allegations against me by Mr Rabbae of GroenLinks [the leftist Dutch Green Party]. Those on the Left like to tamper with the separation of powers. When they cannot win politically because the Dutch people have discerned their sinister agenda, they try to win through the courts.

Whatever your verdict may be, that is the bitter conclusion of this trial.

This trial is also surrealistic. I am being compared with the Hutu murderers in Rwanda and with Mladic. Only a few minutes ago some here have doubted my mental health. I have been called a new Hitler. I wonder whether those who call me such names will also be sued, and if not, whether the Court will also order prosecution. Probably not. And that is just as well. Because freedom of speech applies also to my opponents.

My right to a fair trial has been violated. The order of the Amsterdam Court to prosecute me was not just a decision but a condemning verdict by judges who condemned me even before the actual trial had begun.

Mister President, members of the Court, you must now decide whether freedom still has a home in the Netherlands
Franz Kafka said: “one sees the sun slowly set, yet one is surprised when it suddenly becomes dark.”

Mister President, members of the Court, do not let the lights go out in the Netherlands.

Acquit me: Put an end to this Kafkaesque situation.

Acquit me. Political freedom requires that citizens and their elected representatives are allowed to voice opinions that are held in society.

Acquit me, for if I am convicted, you convict the freedom of opinion and expression of millions of Dutchmen.

Acquit me. I do not incite to hatred. I do not incite to discrimination. But I defend the character, the identity, the culture and the freedom of the Netherlands. That is the truth. That is why I am here. That is why I speak. That is why, like Luther before the Imperial Diet at Worms, I say: “Here I stand, I can do no other.”

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

Mister President, members of the Court, though I stand here alone, my voice is the voice of many. This trial is not about me. It is about something much greater. Freedom of expression is the life source of our Western civilisation.

Do not let that source go dry just to cosy up to a totalitarian ideology. “Freedom,” said the American President Dwight Eisenhower, “has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed – else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.”
Mister President, members of the Court, you have a great responsibility. Do not cut freedom in the Netherlands from its roots, our freedom of expression. Acquit me. Choose freedom.

I have spoken, I speak, and it is my duty – I cannot do otherwise – to continue to speak.

Immigration – It’s more than just numbers.

The problem with you nationalists is that you keep harping on about immigration. Let me try and pass on some other concerns of the Freedom Democrats without mentioning the “I” word.

For the green audience I will start with energy. It is not an infinite supply, whatever form of energy we choose. In fact we only have sufficient gas reserves to last two weeks once the supply is cut off. It must go without saying that the more people living in a country, the more energy that country has to produce , buy and use. If you believe in carbon footprints do you also believe that our country’s footprint is dependent on how many people are in the country producing carbon?

I am a great recycler. Glass, tins, cardboard, paper, in fact lucky to still be on weekly bin collections I only have to put my bin out fortnightly because I don’t produce that much waste. I do this not in the thought that I am saving the planet. I do this because I know it will all end up in ever decreasing landfill sites. Do you agree that the more people living in this country will produce more waste for our landfill sites?

I want to expel a myth. You can’t make water. The water we drink today is the same water the dinosaurs drunk. No new water has been created since the earth was created. Of course what water is available for us to drink is dependent on how much naturally falls out of the sky and ends up in underground water tables or surface reservoirs. Britain has an average rainfall and we can’t just hope that the average rainfall will naturally increase as we invite more people into the country to drink it or otherwise use it. In fact Britain’s average annual rainfall has dropped from 800mm to 600mm. (1) Do you agree then that the more people living in a country means more water being used? It may well be running out of your taps now but wait until the next summer drought and you have water bowsers in your street.

The by product of water is sewage and waste that ends up eventually in drains and sewers. The same sewers built in Victorian times for a Victorian population. Every new housing estate built will have new drains built that will lead to existing sewers. There is only so much waste a sewer can take before it becomes full. Noticed how after a sudden downpour of rain your roadside drains are overflowing with a risk of localised flooding and we are told that no drain can cope with that much rain in a short space of time. Well they always used to. Do you agree that the more people living in a country the more sewerage is produced and has to be dealt with?

I am proud of our National Health Service. In essence quality medical care free at the point of source for everyone. Of course it isn’t actually free, we pay towards it in our taxes and I couldn’t think of a more worthy cause to spend my tax on. The population the NHS has to care for now is far greater than it had to treat in 1948 at its inception. The population has grown out of proportion to the growth of the NHS and there are only so many hospitals you can build and only so many beds to put in them. There are only so many doctors and dentist surgeries we can maintain with an increasing population but decreasing NHS budget. Do you agree that an ever increasing population places an already stretched Health Service under strain?

Parents like to choose which school to send their children to. Normally the closest or one where the child has siblings already attending. That choice is becoming more restricted as the demand school places increases with the increase in population. Class sizes are increasing and children are travelling further to go to school. Do you agree that an ever increasing population places strain on our education system and the teachers and students within it?

I read an article on a far right web site about the introduction of the death penalty. They claim that since its abolition murder has increased. What they have overlooked is that since 1964 so has the population increased. It is right to assume that with population increase so too must the crime rate also increase in proportion. Death penalty aside, do you agree that an ever increasing population leads to an increasing crime rate putting our prisons and judicial system under strain?

Those of who drive will know that our roads are becoming more and more congested and there are far more cars on the road than ever before. The M25 has been widened so many times they should call it the M225. Yes car ownership is linked to affordability and the lack of a suitable and integrated public transport system but the traffic on our roads must also be proportional to the population growth. Do you agree that an increase in population will also see an increase in traffic and congestion?

So far I have covered Energy, waste, water, sewage, NHS, education, crime and traffic without mentioning the “I” word once and I haven’t even got onto loss of national identity. The word we should be focussing on is sustainability. How much more population growth can our country sustain? The Freedom Democrats say no more. That is although we do not have a zero immigration policy we do maintain the need for negative net migration, in other words more foreigners need to be leaving than are entering. Of those allowed to enter it will be on a needs basis to fill shortfalls in the skills market at the same time as matching all jobs filled by immigration with a home born apprentice to learn the same skill.

Let me ask you one last question. The UK population is estimated to be 60 million and expected to reach 70 million by the end of the decade. What do you believe is the maximum number of population that this country can healthily sustain? I want you to give me a figure to the nearest million. It is a question Labour and ConDem supporters of mass immigration cannot answer as to give any figure at all must mean population control. There are only two ways to control a population growth and that is either restrictions on births or strict immigration controls. I certainly don’t intend telling women how many babies they can have so it has to be the latter. Neither can I give my ideal figure of population other than to say we are full up, overcrowded and our population of non British born should be decreasing and not increasing.

So yes I will keep harping on about immigration and sustainability and make no apologies for it. There is too much at stake not to.

Getting tough on the causes of crime.

“If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime”. It’s a common saying in prison. Another one on receiving sentence is “I can do that with my eyes shut”.

Prison to a career criminal is just an occupational hazard, when I say career criminal I mean repeat offenders and most of our prisoners are repeat offenders trapped into a system that locks them out of sight for a couple of years only to release them back into society with the same problems they had when they went in.

Is it time for a complete overhaul of our penal system?

Well first let’s look at how the system currently works. At this point we will presume the police have done a good job and got our man banged to rights and before a judge or magistrate who has ordered a pre-sentence report which will recommend a particular type of sentence. In this imaginary case a short custodial sentence which the judge decides two years is sufficient. Instantly that sentence becomes 12 months because in all sentences less than 4 years, only half is served in side, the other half outside on licence.

On a sentence of 4 years or more the time inside is increased to two thirds. When the prison becomes too full that remaining 12 months may be reduced by another 6 weeks where the offender is released on an electronic tag with a curfew. So out of the two year sentence only 10 months and 2 weeks will be served inside. Now let’s take into account time spent in prison awaiting trial or sentence as that too is taken off, it can be up to 4 or more months. So we are down to 6 months and the offender is released with all the same problems he went in with.

Prison serves two purposes, punishment and rehabilitation. I suggest it does neither at present.

Freedom Democrat crime policy is already tough, it will increase the minimum term served to two thirds for all sentences. Increase the minimum term recommended for serious offences, (e.g. dwelling house burglary, drug supplying, rape) and introduce a life means life sentence for capital offences.(1)

However we can go further and address the problems that took the offender to prison in the first place and not release him until those problems are addressed. These problems will undoubtedly include drug abuse as 80% of all crime is drug related, either in supplying or using. I don’t go for the liberal easy get out of making drugs legal. The problem remains legal or not. Other issues will be alcohol abuse, anger management, mental health issues, educational issues, self respect, respect for others and personal discipline.

And here is my simple answer; no one is released until all these issues are corrected. It may well mean longer sentences but I would rather see an offender spend a lengthy time inside and come out problem free, than a life time of short sentences that have insufficient time to address all the cause of his crime. Before you say the prisons are full, yes they are but it has always been that way, only recently has the media found out about it. In the long term it should decrease the number of offenders because we are addressing the causes of crime. If it means building more prisons then we will build more prisons. More work for the British construction industry.

To put into practice, the pre-sentence report carried out by the probation service will become a “Rehabilitation Plan” with clear goals and objectives to be achieved by the prisoner and the prison. The victim will also be offered some input into the Plan. The length of sentence will be determined not only by the crime but by the problems that caused the crime. The end result will be a drug free ex offender, educated to employment standard and taught how to respect himself and others. There will be no time allowed off the sentence until these objectives have been reached.

THE face of Britain has "changed forever" after mass immigration fuelled a 40 per cent increase in the nation’s ethnic minority population.

The huge rise over just eight years means more than nine million people in England and Wales – equivalent to one in six of the population – are now from a “non-white” background. The figures from the Office for National Statistics will add to criticism of Labour’s flawed immigration policies.

Corsham Foodbank

This week I attended a meeting on behalf of the Town council of The Corsham Foodbank run by the Corsham Churches Together movement. It is a sign of the times that as people enter financial hardship such things are necessary and has my full support, in fact I have offered to help out in delivering food from collection points to the store in St. Aldhelms Church.

Such people who may be in need of its services could be those recently made unemployed, off work through sickness, discharged from hospital or discharged from the Armed Forces. To qualify people would have to enter the system via social services or housing associations to be given a voucher which is exchanged for a food parcel from the food bank. By ensuring that people enter the system before they receive their vouchers makes sure that they receive the on going help needed.

First meeting of the Council year tonight. It is when we sort out committee preferences and chairman & vice chairman etc.

I retained my place as vice chairman of the Leisure Committee as well as getting on the Forward Planning Working Group and Tourism Working Group and Sub Accounts Committee.

Of most note is that I was proposed, seconded and voted unanimously as Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. I’m dead chuffed about that.

It is a non political council although most councillors belong to one of the big 3 parties, I have to ask myself, would I have achieved this if I was still in the BNP?

Looks like a busy year ahead, little time for those forums.

The Freedom Democrats made two gains in the May 5th local elections with their National Elections Officer Graeme Sergeant finding success on not one but two parish councils in Kent.

Graeme lives on the border of the parishes of Teynham, and Lynsted with Kingsdown and found sufficient support to be nominated to stand in both parishes.

This is a tremendous success for our fledgling party as Graeme becomes the second councillor within our ranks and shows the party’s commitment to achieve electoral success at all levels.

All of us in the Freedom Democrats wish Councillor Graeme the very best of British luck in his new positions.

Energy

Great Britain's industry and infrastructure has been run down to a degree that will ensure our continued decline to a third world level.

Our steel manufacturing plant has all been destroyed or exported, and where we once made the finest steel in the world this has been sold off, or even given away. Our Ship Building industries are now closed, and even Royal Navy vessels are now sourced abroad. The motorcycle industry went very early on and the car and commercial companies followed.

Energy has likewise been systematically destroyed, as confirmed by the closure of all but a few small coal mines in favour of overseas-owned coal and oil. Recent governments have invested heavily in high cost renewable systems such as wind power which are unable to adequately meet our needs. With the sole exception of hydro-electric energy, no renewable source is stable enough to supply our electricity needs on the constant basis required by hospitals and industry. We are now told by energy chiefs that we must not expect electricity to always be available, rolling power cuts are now going to be inevitable.

Energy is now in a critical situation through the closure of older nuclear and coal powered plant. Gas is not stored, but bought as needed mainly from Russia. Electricity is brought from the French Nuclear Power Generators, who makes a handsome profit on these contracts.

We are now dependent on oil imports from the Middle East, Russian gas and coal from Eastern Europe. Such dependence on foreign energy makes us vulnerable to the demands of foreign interests just to keep the Britain with the essential energy.

Any nation that is dependent on energy imports, is not an independent nation.

We aim is to make Britain a totally independent nation which produces and supplies all its own energy needs.

Energy costs are rising as Britain's energy production capacity is diminished. North Sea oil now no longer produces enough to satisfy all our energy requirements.

Any nation that produces cheap energy for its manufacturing base will enable them in to have a competitive edge over foreign competitors.

The Freedom Democrats intend to:

1. Bridge the 30% projected energy shortfall by re-opening British coal mines with their estimated 500-year life, rather than depend on coal bought in from Eastern Europe. We must invest in new clean coal fired power stations. This will bridge our immediate deficit.
2. Invest in new, safe nuclear generating plant, this will give us a mid term breathing space to investigate and develop alternative technologies.
3. Invest only in renewable energy projects that are cost effective, as opposed to ideologically driven. They need to be fully evaluated before committing to full scale implementation.
4. Nuclear fusion has always been the pot at the end of the rainbow, research should continue to be funded as a possible long term solution.
5. Open up, for British use only, oil fields within our South Atlantic territorial waters.
6. Investigate all viable alternatives to our current oil based economy.

Immigration

The Office of National Statistics estimates the population of the UK to be 61 million. No-one knows for sure because illegal immigrants do not complete census forms. By 2029 it is projected to be over 70 million.

The higher the population, the more demand there is on public services like the NHS. More water is used; more energy is used creating more emissions. More waste is produced filling up depleting land fill sites. Schools become overcrowded and our countryside is concreted over for more housing estates.

In a report written by Andrew Neather of the Labour cabinet office in 2000 he states the aim of Labour’s immigration strategy was to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date’.

The number of foreigners allowed in the UK increased by as much as 50 per cent in the wake of the report.

Supporters of immigration tell us it fuels our economy and job market but in reality all it does is lower wages and keep British born residents out of work. Figures released by the ONS show that of the 1.67 million new jobs created during Labours time in government 98.5% went to foreign workers.

The Freedom Democrats say enough is enough, it is time to put a stop to this nonsense, Britain is the most densely populated country in Europe after Malta. British born residents are out of work and our public services are stretched.

Immigration can happen in a number of ways.

* Through free movement between members states of The European Union.
* From non EU countries.
* By asylum seekers.
* Illegal immigration.

1. It is our policy to withdraw from the EU. The right to free movement will automatically cease. Being fair people we will give all current EU residents in this country a 12 month right of residence during which time they should plan their embarkation and employers can plan to return their work force to British born workers. After 12 months, if still here they become illegal immigrants. If any want to stay longer than the initial 12 months they must meet the criteria laid out in a-d below. The same equally applies to work permit holders of non EU residents.

2. An immediate halt to all future immigration from any country. We will then put all efforts into seeking out illegal immigrants, bogus students, and visa over stays. All foreign born prisoners in our prisons will have their sentences reviewed and sent back to their last known country of origin.

Net migration. This is the figure achieved by subtracting the number of people leaving the country from the number of people entering. What it does not take into account is that the people leaving are generally British born whereas the people entering are generally foreign born. Those foreign born themselves are also having children which are then never included in that figure. It is a dangerous and cynical experiment in social engineering. Net migration was +198,000 in 2009 compared to +163,000 the previous year.(1) We believe that to achieve a sustainable population that reduces the strain on our public services and infrastructure, net migration has to be in the negative for at least 5 years and that figure must be obtained only using the emigration/immigration of foreign born nationals and not British nationals.

Therefore any immigration allowed will have to be on a strictly “needs and skills” basis. That is for the needs of our country, to fuel any shortfall in the skilled employment market. To satisfy the need for foreign workers an employer must satisfy the following criteria.

1. That all attempts have been made to fill the job with a suitably qualified and skilled British resident.
2. That for every skilled foreign worker taken on, it is matched by a British born apprentice to learn the same skills.
3. That the rate of pay will be the market rate had it been taken by a British resident and full income tax and national insurance are being paid..
4. The work permit will be for 3 years only. This permit will be forfeited on conviction of any criminal offence.

Asylum - We have sympathy for the persecuted in foreign lands. Unfortunately our country has no room to put up all the world's persecuted and it is up to the rest of the world to take their fair share. We will only accept those seeking asylum that were resident in a country neighbouring our own. Likewise we expect other countries to take in refuges from their neighbours. We will give no foreign monetary aid to countries that persecute their own people but will consider giving aid to countries that do take in their persecuted neighbours.

Students – We welcome overseas students at recognised learning establishments so long as they do not deprive a British student of a place and the foreign student can pay all the tuition fees and show means of financial support during their stay without taking up employment.

Tourists – We welcome tourists to our country and will make them feel welcome.

A permanent right of residence will only be granted to people who have successfully applied for British citizenship. Any successful applicant would have shown that they and their family have accepted and fully integrated into British Society and culture. Rights to welfare payments and non emergency NHS treatment are only an entitlement of British citizens.

Defence

The most recent Strategic Defence Review was carried out on the basis of cost before needs. The Freedom Democrats insist that the Nations defence needs must be a priority over cost.

Recent history has shown us that we never know where the next conflict will be. While our whole defence capability was geared to a war against the USSR we saw unexpected conflicts in The Falklands, Yugoslavia, Kuwait, Iraq and Libya. NATO is currently an organisation without a cause since the ending of the cold war and is looking for any conflict to get involved in to justify its existence. We will remain a member of NATO while it re-assesses its global role but will become an independent member (as France is) so we can control our own forces.

With the increase in the world’s nuclear arsenal particularly unstable third world countries it is all the more necessary to maintain our own nuclear deterrent which will be independent of the US and NATO.

Our Armed Forces are stretched to the limit with tours of duty in conflict areas coming about every 18 months. It is highly unlikely that Britain could defend itself or its dependencies under the current strength. We would not engage our forces in overseas conflicts where British interests are not served.

We will reverse the decisions in the recent defence review to scrap aircraft squadrons (including the Harrier and Nimrod), RAF bases and aircraft carriers and reverse redundancy measures to bring the level of personnel to what is needed and not what we can currently afford. (The finance for this is specified in our economic policy).

Wherever possible, military equipment will be British designed and built.

We would reintroduce the short term 3 year engagement for any young person aged over 18 and unemployed for 12 months or more with the emphasis on trade training. It will be optional and paid at the standard service rate. (There is no guarantee of Job Seekers Allowance being paid if this option is declined).

With a view of retention and reward, service personnel on completion of a 12 year engagement will receive priority status on council housing lists or a preferable mortgage rate. This also applies to personnel medically discharged during conflict.

Those who suffer after they have left the Service e.g. go onto suffer problems such as PTSD will have the FULL support both financially and emotionally of the Government and all means necessary will be put in place to assure their well being and not just forgotten as appears to be happening to ex servicemen and women in today's society.

Suffering does not end with the cessation of battle and these people need to know that we will not abandon them.

Education

We value the role our teachers have in ensuring our children are properly educated. Our current education system is a one size fits all when in reality children mature socially, educationally and physically at different stages.

Early year’s education has simply become a child minding service so both parents can work to support their family. We believe that up to the age of 3 a child is best brought up at home with a parent to learn traditional family values which are being lost and after that to part-time nursery education to learn social skills ready for school. An increased child benefit during pre-school years would help parents stay at home in the child’s early years.

We believe that assessment is best done by the teacher in an ongoing programme and not single written exams. Assessment at age 11 will consider the whole child. Physical, emotional, developmental maturity, as well as academic ability should be assessed by teacher assessment and not simply written tests. We believe primary school teachers know their classes well and are best able to assess the children. Children will then be streamed and/or set at the start of secondary education based on all these factors. This style of informal assessment should then be repeated at the end of the next 2/3 academic years so that children can move across the streams with ease, according to their progress and development.

By the end of year 9 (around 14/15years of age) it is pretty clear which children are academic or perhaps would benefit from a more vocational education. Maths and English should be taught right up to the age of 16. Some children do not benefit from the current GCSE system and would be better off learning hands on skills and vocational courses from that age instead of being forced down the route of trying to learn too many irrelevant subjects to GCSE level.

We believe teachers are highly trained professionals who should be treated as such. They can maintain discipline in most classrooms, but they need to know there is a solid back up procedure for those children who cannot, or will not conform. Suspension and expulsion is not always the answer. We believe there is a need for a separate education system for unruly children of all ages, not one that children are sent to for the rest of their school life necessarily, only until they have received the help and support they need to overcome their problems. Within a school setting teachers need to know they will be supported by their superiors and are not made to continue struggling on with one or two disruptive pupils to the detriment of the rest of the class. They trained to teach, not crowd control! More responsibility should be placed on the parents. We would only support the reintroduction of corporal punishment on request of individual schools where it can be shown to have an inherent indiscipline problem and even then the reason for its reintroduction should be of a deterrent value against bad behaviour. It is important that a teacher has the ability to restrain and remove unruly students using minimum force without fear of prosecution.

Certain university degree courses should be free where it is of benefit to the country such as nursing or medicine. All education up to the age of 18 will free. After 18 it is unfair on the state to pay for an education where only the recipient will benefit. However we realise that not everyone wishes to borrow vast amounts of money to pay back for the remainder of their working life. With this in mind we will issue education and training credits to all young people who carry out community service in the voluntary sector. This can be started as early as age 14 and every year completed in the voluntary sector will entitle the person to one year of free higher education, including non university vocational training.

Where any student loan is taken out it must have an early redemption available to reduce the interest paid. (Not available on this government’s current student loans scheme).

Crime and Justice

1. We will demand that the police act as the police instead of social workers in uniform or as the paramilitary enforcers of political correctness. We will issue response targets where a member of the public reporting a crime must have a police response within a specified time limit. The police will be given back the power to prosecute summary offences leaving the CPS more resources to prosecute serious crime (indictable offences) more speedily.

2. Justice will always be directed by the rights of the victim, not the rights of the criminal.

3. Currently an accused sentenced to less than 4 years only serves half the sentence. 4 years or more then only 2/3rds are served inside with the remaining sentence served on licence with a recall to prison if the licence is breached by re-offending. Many people when sentenced are released immediately from court because they have already served that half on remand awaiting sentence or trial. All sentences will have at least 2/3rds served inside prison. Repeat offenders will lose the right of early release and serve the full term and to qualify for any early release a prisoner must have undergone drug addiction treatment in prison.

4. Parents will be prosecuted for their children’s anti social behaviour.

5. Offenders found to be illegal immigrants or bogus asylum seekers will be immediately deported back to their place of origin. All means necessary will be employed to establish the persons country of birth in order to return them after any criminal conviction.

6. We will establish a list of offences deemed to be “capital offences” which would attract a death penalty were it in force. In the absence of a death penalty the sentence must be full life where the offender is never released in their life time. (1) These capital offences will include:

* Murder of a child, where it is preceded by abduction and/or sexual activity.
* Murder by a man on a woman, where it is preceded by abduction and/or rape or sexual activity.
* A murder which is one of a series of murders by the same person over a period of time (serial killers).
* Murder by terrorism.

We will set up a judicial review to assess on the effectiveness of reintroducing the death penalty for these offences and be bound by the review’s decision. We are always aware of miscarriages of justice and have no wish for the wrong person to be executed.

A minimum term will also be set for offences deemed “so serious”. These will include:

* Rape.
* Burglary of an occupied dwelling.
* Supplying class A drugs.

11. There will be only one law in Britain, British law as laid down in common and statute laws. There will be no toleration of alternative law systems such as Sharia Law.

12. We shall repeal all the repressive laws introduced in the past thirty years which restrict free speech and enforce political correctness.

Notes:
(1) There are still some who wish to see the return of the death penalty however it is also our wish not to see the wrong person executed. The more naive amongst death penalty supporters mention only when you are sure if he is guilty with DNA. It is an irrebuttable point of English Law that a person is innocent until proved guilty and the onus is on The Crown to prove guilt so that you are sure he is guilty. If there is any doubt of his guilt he must be acquitted. Therefore if there is no DNA or DNA is disputed the offender may still be guilty but have to be acquitted. More murders will be set free if you use this as a reason to execute.

Out of the ashes of the old is born new life. We are pleased to announce the formation of the Freedom Democrats under the chairmanship of Gary Marshall and assisted by vice chairman Cllr. Michael Simpkins. A new political party occupying the centre right ground of British politics, our ideology in one of Modern Nationalism. We aim to appeal to Nationalists both British and English, Patriots and other such like minded people.

Modern British Nationalism or Patriotism is defined as the political and ideological structure to ensure the continued existence of our British way of life, the preservation of our culture and heritage and freedom from multi-culturism and political oppressiveness for ourselves and our descendants. It does not discriminate on the grounds of race or ethnicity of any one group of people living in Britain as a British citizen but believes in the integration of all into the British culture and way of life. Modern Nationalism is one country, one culture. It objects to all forms of political extremism.

In forming our policies we have consulted with industry professionals including teachers and military chiefs. Here are just a few bullet points.

Education

• A comprehensive system with teacher assessment and streaming and the option to divert from GCSE studies to vocational training from the age of 15.

• Free university courses for selected trades that directly benefit the country such as nursing and medicine.

• The option to earn credits for a free higher education by working in the voluntary sector from age 14.

I am pleased to say that we are already getting members of the now defunct British Freedom Party coming over to us, and that is before they even know what our name is. Paperwork is in and if we can get confirmation our name is OK this week then we shall announce it. We have certainly hit the ground running and I will be announcing success already on two councils in the south east with a further two candidates standing on May 5th.

I shall be out this week end helping the YES Campaign. There are those who will tell you to vote No because AV doesn't help small parties. To me that smacks of lack of ambition and aspiration. Who wants to stay a small party forever? Not me.

What is English?

Can anyone be English? I suppose it depends how far back in history you want to go. There is the favourite nationalist saying that if a dog has puppies in a stable they are still puppies, not horses. Meaning where you are born doesn’t make you what you are, it is who you are born from that makes you what you are.

So that phrase doesn’t answer the question very well as dogs and horses are completely different species of animals. Perhaps it is better put like if a spaniel has puppies in a stable the puppies are still spaniels.

Nationalist outlook is if a Nigerian mother and father move to England and have children in England, the children will always be Nigerian, not English. If one parent is English then the children will be half English or mixed race.

What then when those children grow up and have their own children in England? If they are fully Nigerian then I suppose their children will be the same too if they had children with a Nigerian partner. If as we said they are only half English and they had children with another Nigerian girl would that make their children quarter English? If they were half English and had children with a fully English girl would those children then be ¾ English. I could go on down further generations with different permutations but this is getting confusing already.

The question is what is English?

Before the 5th century the English never existed as there was no England until the invasion of the Barbarians or Angles. Prior to that it was Britain (Britannia)and for the first 3 centuries AD was under occupation of the Roman Empire. The Roman empire wasn’t just made up of Romans from Rome, it would have consisted of people from all over the empire including the middle east and north Africa . Certainly it was Roman policy not to employ its soldiers in their home countries so any Britons who joined the Roman army would have gone abroad while Roman soldiers in Britain are known to have come from places like Dalmatia (Croatia).

Prior to the Roman invasion in the 1st century Britain was inhabited by tribal Britons each tribe with their own King or ruler, they certainly didn’t see themselves as one nation.
The Roman invasion didn’t wipe out the entire colony of Britons although I’m sure it was bloody in places, more so that Britons became Romanised. It was that or die. Over the 300 years of Roman occupation there would have been interaction between the original Britons and the Roman Britons. There would have been marriages and children.

By the 4th century Britain became too costly to defend from the repeated Barbarian attacks and the Roman Empire simply gave up on Britain, upped sticks and left leaving the country open to the Angles (German), Saxons (German) and Jutes (Danish). We know them as the Anglo Saxons and probably the first known reference to English and England (Angle Land), leaving the Britons behind to defend themselves. Amongst these Britons most certainly would have been some Roman Britons who had settled and chose to take their chance with the Saxons.

The Saxons never wiped out every remaining Briton, it was simply an occupation and the Britons just had to live with it. Over time they would have fully integrated into what was then Saxon Britain, Britons and Saxons having children together. Things stayed that way for some 600 years until the Norman invasion.

The Normans were not actually French although they came from what we know as France. They originated from earlier Viking invasions of France and became known as the North men (Norsemen).

The Duke of Normandy was made King of England (William 1st) and he divided the land up and gave it to his Barons making them Lords of the manor to look after the land. William actually spent very little time in England, he hated then place. Much of the English aristocracy today can trace its family line to these Norman barons and is where our class structure today stems from. Although these classes were kept separate there would certainly have been inter relations between the Norman men and Saxon women producing children.

That was 945 years ago and here we are today modern England and the English. A people made up out of early tribal Britons, The global Roman Empire, Germans, Danish, Norwegian and French.

Today global travel and immigration has also contributed to international breeding. It is not uncommon for an English man to have a far eastern wife, African wife or a wife from the Indian sub-continent. So their children will always be labelled half English half Chinese etc. (mixed race) but what of their grand children or great grandchildren? Are we going to start dividing their nationality into fractions again depending on the racial makeup of their ancestors? I have to confess to being about 1/16th Irish but still proud to be British.

Nelson: "In that case, break open the rum ration. Let us splice the main brace to steel the men before battle."

Hardy: "The rum ration has been abolished, Admiral. Its part of the Government's policy on binge drinking."

Nelson: "Good heavens, Hardy. I suppose we'd better get on with it full speed ahead."

Hardy: "I think you'll find that there's a 4 knot speed limit in this stretch of water."

Nelson: "Damn it man! We are on the eve of the greatest sea battle in history. We must advance with all dispatch. Report from the crow's nest, please."

Hardy: "That won't be possible, sir."

Nelson: "What?"

Hardy: "Health and Safety have closed the crow's nest, sir. No harness; and they said that rope ladders don't meet regulations. They won't let anyone up there until proper scaffolding can be erected."

Nelson: "Then get me the ship's carpenter without delay, Hardy."

Hardy: "He's busy knocking up a wheelchair access to the foredeck Admiral."

Nelson: "Wheelchair access? I've never heard anything so absurd."

Hardy: "Health and safety again, sir. We have to provide a barrier- free environment for the differently abled."

Nelson: "Differently abled? I've only one arm and one eye and I refuse even to hear mention of the word. I didn't rise to the rank of admiral by playing the disability card."

Hardy: "Actually, sir, you did. The Royal Navy is under- represented in the areas of visual impairment and limb deficiency."

Nelson: "Whatever next? Give me full sail. The salt spray beckons."

Hardy: "A couple of problems there too, sir. Health and safety won't let the crew up the rigging without hard hats. And they don't want anyone breathing in too much salt - haven't you seen the adverts?"

Nelson: "I've never heard such infamy. Break out the cannon and tell the men to stand by to engage the enemy."

Hardy: "The men are a bit worried about shooting at anyone, Admiral."

Nelson: "What? This is mutiny!"

Hardy: "It's not that, sir. It's just that they're afraid of being charged with murder if they actually kill anyone. There are a couple of legal-aid lawyers on board, watching everyone like hawks."

Nelson: "Then how are we to sink the Frenchies and the Spanish?"

Hardy: "Actually, sir, we're not."

Nelson: "We're not?"

Hardy: "No, sir. The French and the Spanish are our European partners now. According to the Common Fisheries Policy, we shouldn't even be in this stretch of water. We could get hit with a claim for compensation."

Nelson: "But you must hate a Frenchman as you hate the devil."

Hardy: "I wouldn't let the ship's diversity coordinator hear you saying that sir. You'll be up on disciplinary report."

Nelson: "You must consider every man an enemy, who speaks ill of your King."

Hardy: "Not any more, sir. We must be inclusive in this multicultural age. Now put on your Kevlar vest; it's the rules. It could save your life"

Nelson: "Don't tell me - Health and Safety. Whatever happened to rum, sodomy and the lash?"

Hardy: As I explained, sir, rum is off the menu! And there's a ban on corporal punishment."

Nelson: "What about sodomy?"

Hardy: "I believe that is now legal, sir."

Nelson: "In that case................... Kiss me, Hardy."

The way forward

I have received my long awaited letter from the electoral commission today and is attached in full. It is as I suspected not as clear cut as Peter Mullins & co are making out and you will read that all they have done is make Peter the Treasurer.

This is simply because they have a letter from Michele Marshall stating her intention to resign ((when she resigned is irrelevant) and it is a default position with the commission that in the absence of another person to be treasurer, the Party leader automatically fills that role. That is all they have done.

I remain as registered Nominating Officer and Peter requires my consent to step down as he has no other registered officer other than himself to sign the paperwork.

As for the position of party leader and other officers, they state that they will not accept our applications of Gary Marshall as Leader or John Savage as Treasurer simply because the current Leader has to sign as well, and Peter Mullins withholding of consent to sign does not constitute an inability to sign. They go on to state that they do not intervene in internal party disputes and we should take further legal action if required.

You will note that they have not stated that Peter was right in what he did or that we were wrong in what we did. Clearly the membership have showed to Peter that he is not wanted as Leader and his withholding of consent goes against their wishes.

Gary and I feel further legal action is pointless as all we will inherit is a discredited party and the next step is to form a new party as already discussed. Plans are already well under way and we intend to offer all current British Freedom members free membership until the expiry of your Freedom membership. All you need do is return your British Freedom membership card with your name and address to: The Treasurer, 16 Walsingham Place, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2RP. Your membership of the new party will then expire when your Freedom membership would have done.

Many members have expressed their support and others who were not members of British Freedom have also said they will join now they know that the likes of extremists Simon Bennett and Lee Barnes will not be involved.

So what will this new party be like. Well Gary Marshall will be its elected leader and John Savage it’s elected Treasurer that we can be sure of. It will occupy the centre-right ground of British politics offering moderate nationalist and patriotic polices. It will be one with complete financial transparency, where all officers and members behave and act in the manner expected of a serious political party and everyone treats everyone else with respect.

What is for certain that this new party will start life with two councillors compared to British Freedom's none and we have two candidates standing in May's local elections with a good chance of being elected.

As for the name of this new party? We haven’t quite decided yet as being democratic and fair we are allowing all founder members to have a say and choose. We should know by the week-end. What I can say is that of the names on offer they are all different from what you may be expecting. They are dynamic and inspiring.

Finally on behalf of Gary Marshall and his team I would like to thank you all for the support and encouragement you have shown all of us during this difficult and stressful time. It is now time to move forward and we hope you will join us.

Is it the end of Freedom

It's a shame but the British Freedom Party Mk 1 is going from weakness to weakness. I am still waiting for my letter from The Electoral Commission on the outcome of their investigation but what I do know is that the Commission will not let the party boot me out of the Nominating Officer role so I still hold that position. So what does Chairman Mullins do, send his top negotiator Simon Bennett to handle the delicate negotiations of any hand over. Here are a few tit bits of his negotiating skills to myself and other officers of BFP Mk 2.

Mick, You gormless fat imbecile, you are a non member and have no legal claim to the domain. Some friend you are, you're going to cost your chubby wifeless pal a great deal of money.

Gary, Listen carefully and listen well... If I want to insult the fat little dwarf with an IQ of 3 Simpkins, I will do so. I f I want to insult the terminal failure dick-head Savage, I will do so. If I want to insult a lanky streak of weak piss that thinks he has half an ounce of intelligence such as yourself, I will do so.

Do it Gary, Put a lead on me? What, like Michelle does on you?
You're a nobody, a non entity and what happens between British Freedom and its members is none of your concern. I will talk to you however I please. Go on Gazza, report me, as no breach has taken place. You tried to be clever and you lost, move on with your tail firmly between your legs. Savage will be dealt with in law as will Simplekins and as will you. All in good time, all in good time. You have the IQ of a piss-ant and the courage and conviction of a drama queen. You are out of your depth on every level, don't humiliate yourselves any more than you have already.

You WILL hand over the accounts and you WILL hand over the Bank account or face prosecution for blackmail, fraud and theft. Savage will take his website offline or face the legal bill for a case he hasn't a cat's chance in hell of defending.

You have to understand that up to this point none of us have heard from the Electoral Commission and have no idea what their decision is. From their web site we can deduce that they see Peter Mullins as Leader and Treasurer and myself as Nominating Officer and that won't change until I agree to sign the hand over forms. Would you after being spoken to like that. Best they hire in another top negotiator but in any case the man Bennett is next in line for the Treasurers job! OMG.

For disillusioned British Freedom members out there do not despair. We have about 20 of Freedom's nicest people all working away on the formation of a far better, centre-right moderate party for nationalists and patriots just in case nutters like Simon Bennett remain on the scene.

Putting the nice back into Nationalism

The meaning of words in our language change over time either through popular habit or political correctness. The word gay is a fine example. No heterosexual male would go calling himself gay to describe himself as being extremely happy anymore. In politics Nationalism or Nationalist has become a much abused word that it too has had its meaning and interpretation changed over the years. Looking at the basic definition of Nationalism there doesn’t appear to be much controversy:

Nationalism
1. The idea of supporting one's country and culture.
2. Supporting a national identity when it does not exist as a sovereign nation.

However where Welsh, Scottish and Irish Nationalism fits in quite nicely with that definition it differs greatly when British Nationalism attempts to use the same platform. That is because of the difference between a country and a nation. Whereas a country is clearly a land mass defined by geographical borders, a nation refers to a group of people sharing aspects of language, culture and/or ethnicity. It is when you start defining political ideologies to a group of people to the exclusion of all others do complex issues of racism and division come into the equation.

Of course Britain is a union of four nations; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each with their distinct cultures and therefore British Nationalism would recognise that each of the four has the right to their own identity but under the collectiveness of being British.

It is the misuse of the term nationalism by the far right and far left in the same way that gay has been misused by the homosexual lobby to change the entire meaning of the word. If British Nationalism was merely about supporting Britain and its culture (and I believe it is) there should be nothing wrong in being a British Nationalist. However British Nationalism is now wrongly regarded by many as only supporting those who you perceive to belong to the British nation or the group of people who share the ancestry and culture of the earliest British people. British Nationalism also comes in varied strands of extremism to not only define who is British by nationality but further defines who in society poses the most risk to the British nation. The list will include religions, distant continents, skin colour and sexual orientations. They are despised not because of what they do but because of who they are. If you hate any one group in world society there will be a far right nationalist group for you.

So while the extreme British Nationalists talk out loud, spread by use of the internet under the safety of pseudonyms, of miscegenation, homosexuality, Jews and the New World Order and white supremacy the work of the moderate British Nationalist goes hindered by their thoughts and actions because they have taken over the word Nationalist to the detriment of others. They are in fact not nationalist at all but ultra-nationalist or jingoistic by definition. Tolerance has always been a virtue of the British, tolerance of other cultures and religions where they could live peacefully side by side to our own. The ultra-nationalists display intolerance to anybody who is remotely dissimilar to themselves and therefore it is time we reclaimed the word Nationalism for ourselves.

Is it possible to be a nationalist and still remain in the political mainstream? The Welsh and Scottish seem to have no problem. We need to go back to regarding our country as a land mass, defined by geographical borders and in the case of Britain that is clearly the sea, and not a single group of people as defined by nationhood or ethnicity because a country’s people are the people living legally in that country at the time, whether by birth, invitation or a long line of decadency and so long as those people living within those borders wish to love, share and uphold this country’s wonderful culture then they have the right to enjoy the democratic freedom that this country offers. This is patriotism but it can also be nationalism in its truest sense. It is moderate nationalism and I would call it real nationalism.

Moderate nationalism in British politics should show no discrimination against any one group of people based on their race, skin colour, sexual orientation or religion. Neither would it infer rights on one section of society to the detriment of another. Moderate Nationalism will pursue policies that are good for Britain and all those who live legally within our borders and within our culture.

For centuries Jews, Sikhs, Hindus and even atheists have lived in Britain tolerant of its Christian heritage and all have lived peacefully alongside each other. It is only the recent immigration, legal or illegal of Islam, exasperated by higher than average birth rates that have started to erode this country’s culture. That is not to say all Muslims are a threat, just as British Jews, Sikhs and Hindus go about their religious practices hardly noticed then so too should a British Muslim and many do. However, Islam is all about dominance over all its surroundings refusing to integrate with western society. Moreover it despises the society that now gives it a home.

A moderate nationalist should not be opposed to all Muslims just as we do not hate Jews, Sikhs and Hindus. We should however be opposed to an Islam that refuses to integrate, that plans, promotes and carries out acts of murder against the British people, remains separate, considers itself superior to those around it and wishes to change the very culture that invited it here in the first place.

AV/FPTP polling.

When it comes to telling porkies, no newspaper does it better than The Sun. In this latest poll on voting intentions in the 5th May referendum on AV or FPTP they claim a significant lead in the No campaign, but let's look at their figures more closely.

Just 23 per cent said they were very interested in changing the voting system, with 37 per cent fairly interested.

33 per cent not very or not at all interested.

See how they lump the not very and not at all together to form one group of 33% yet split the very interested and fairly interested in two hiding the fact that 60% had some interest in changing the system.

There is also a rumour going out from the No camp that any change will cost £250 million for new counting machines. Absolute rubbish! The ballots will be counted by hand as before. Nothing changes except that you order your candidates in preference. It is still only the 1st choice votes that are counted, no different from now. Only when the leader has less than 50% are the votes of the lowest candidate counted again. Why do you need a machine for this.

Now I like to be open and honest so here is the official You Gov poll result. Strange those answers in the Sun report do not feature here.

The latest news on the power struggle within The British Freedom Party is that Mr Mullins has submitted paperwork to the Electoral Commission to change the personnel of Treasurer and Nominating Officer. The Commission have not accepted this and are in the process of obtaining evidence from other officers before making a final adjudication on the issue.

Update on the Stalemate

The members' meeting last Sunday went well and I should have a video for you soon. The attendees that represented 25% of the membership voted unanimously to reject Peter Mullins as Chairman and voted Gary Marshall as the new Chairman with roger Bennett as his deputy.

There now follows a period of stalemate while Mr Mullins and a few of his die hard followers refuse to hand over the party.

The matter now rest with The Electoral Commission who will ultimately decide who the party belongs to, Mr Mullins or the members. Here are the full minutes.

Minutes of the Special Members’ Meeting of British Freedom

Date: Sunday 6th February 2011, 2.45pm
Chaired by: Cllr Michael Simpkins

Members Present: 15

Apologies: 6

1. Introduction: The meeting was opened by the interim chairman, Michael Simpkins. He apologised for the change of venue, which had come about by an anonymous threatening phone call being made to the village hall which had originally been booked, and followed up by an e-mail. In view of the unconstitutional expulsions in the British Freedom Party, Michael Simpkins has been appointed interim chairman, until the situation can be resolved. The Treasurer registered with the Electoral Commission is Michele Marshall, but since she wants to resign from that post for personal reasons, accountant John Savage has taken on the job of putting the accounts in order

2. Interim Treasurer’s report: John Savage has prepared the party’s accounts up to the end of December 2010. These will need to be submitted to the Electoral Commission by the end of April 2011. We are too small a party to need them audited. Via a Powerpoint presentation, the meeting was shown the accounts, which will be printed out and sent to all members. The party had an excess of income over expenditure amounting to £1856.39. When the Party was first set up, the committee had promised that its dealings would always be financially transparent.

3. Interim Chairman’s statement: Michael Simpkins explained the background to the current situation in the party. In January 2011, an article entitled “Jerusalem Declaration” appeared on the party website, and stirred up some controversy. Lee Barnes, the party’s legal officer, started to e-mail members in a way unbecoming to a moderate political party. The situation escalated and got out of control. Simon Bennett, the webmaster, accused some members of trying to take over the website. Because of Lee Barnes’ offensive e-mails to members, a group of 9 people asked Peter Mullins that Lee Barnes be disciplined. His response was to expel all 9, along with 2 other members who were not involved in the situation. Four of the members expelled were committee members. Others were officers and those active within the party. Approximately one sixth of the party’s membership was removed. The expulsion was carried out by an email, with no follow up letter and no personal communication from the Chairman, Peter Mullins. The Party constitution states “6 a. (1) The Party Chairman may issue an Emergency Expulsion Notice to any member or activist if, in his considered opinion, such an emergency expulsion is required to protect the reputation, financial or legal interests of the party.” Apart from this, the reasons for the expulsions were not stated. Such an order needs the agreement of the party Chairman (Peter Mullins), the party Legal Officer (Lee Barnes – a conflict of interest here?) and the party Disciplinary Officer (there was none, so Simon Bennett’s girlfriend Verity Blake was made nominal Disciplinary Officer a short while before the expulsion notices were sent.)

Four of those expelled were on the Executive committee. The Party Constitution states “7 (g) (9) The Party Chairman will be able to request the removal of an unelected Executive Council member by a two thirds majority vote of the Council at any time.” This clause should have prevented the type of action which occurred. Of the 8 Executive Committee members at the time, one was out of the country and uncontactable, so 3 committee members must have voted to expel the other 4. All posts at that stage were unelected, and had been appointed by Peter Mullins.

The suggestion is that Peter Mullins has abused his powers as chairman. Mick Simpkins therefore concludes that the meeting should make a vote of no confidence in Peter Mullins as Chairman of the British Freedom Party. As Mick is a named officer of the party with the Electoral Commission, he has been appointed the task of interim chairman, but does not intend to stand as Chairman.

Gary Marshall (Media and Communications Officer): As there had been some complaints about website content, Gary had offered to check articles before they were published. Lee Barnes had tried to circumvent this process, and sent a number of e-mails to Gary, containing expletives. A Skype conference was held between Peter Mullins, Gary Marshall, Lee Barnes and Simon Bennett to resolve the issues. Although Lee Barnes’ attitude remained the same, he eventually agreed to Gary Marshall checking website content. But the next day, several party officers were subjected to a stream of abusive e-mails from Lee Barnes. As a result, the members concerned took appropriate action and asked Peter Mullins to take disciplinary action on Lee Barnes. These members were then expelled by Peter Mullins. Gary Marshall believes that Peter Mullins has not abided by the party constitution. He read a statement, summarised here as: Democratic Nationalism has been sabotaged by its own Chairman. Those who complained about his dictatorial behaviour were sent an e-mail of expulsion. This is a tragedy for the likely course of British politics. British Freedom had proposed a different kind of Nationalism for Britain. Friendly contact has been made with the Dutch Freedom party, and there are good opportunities for winning over the other Freedom parties of Europe. A party such as British Freedom has a better chance than old-style Nationalism of winning over the moderate voting population. Peter Mullins had created a one-man band version of another Nationalist party.

Gwen Jenkins (Membership Secretary): Gwen confirmed the sequence of events previously detailed. She laid much of the blame at the door of the British Democracy Forum, where it appeared that a great deal of rubbish was being posted about the British Freedom Party. A fantasy world had been created there by one or two unscrupulous people, which messed with people’s heads and created paranoia. Gullible visitors to the forum were mistaking it for real life. Peter Mullins had stated he posted there himself, despite having previously told members to avoid it. If the British Freedom Party is to move forward, it must never get involved in public bickering, and allowing itself to be manipulated. The battle for our country will be fought in the real world and not in fantasy land.

Peter Mills (website author): Peter read a statement from Roger Bennett who was unable to attend the meeting due to his wife being in hospital. Peter then gave his personal account of recent events and read out the e-mails he had received from Lee Barnes, complete with obscene language and threats of violence. He suggested that Lee Barnes should have had no part in the disciplinary proceedings, as he was the person being complained about. Simon Bennett had also used foul language and threats of violence in a voicemail to Roger Bennett. Since the expulsions, the website articles are becoming more extreme and show that British Freedom is turning into another version of the BNP. Peter Mills recommends a vote of no confidence in Peter Mullins as Chairman.

John Savage (Interim Treasurer): Abuse from Lee Barnes has been the norm since the start of the party. He had sent abusive e-mails to John, including veiled threats of violence. Some of these e-mails were shown on-screen to the members present at the meeting. Examples of Simon Bennett’s contributions to British Democracy Forum were also shown.

Questions were invited from the members:
Is the problem with Lee Barnes or Peter Mullins? Answer: to get rid of Lee Barnes from the party, Peter Mullins must also go. Although Peter Mullins had been invited to attend and would have had an equal right of reply, he was not present at the meeting.

The Motion: This meeting has no confidence in Peter Mullins and he should be removed as Chairman of the British Freedom Party.
(Note: The constitution does not allow for postal voting. The lack of a specific provision in the Party Constitution for postal voting is a matter that is likely to be reviewed at a future date)

The voting members present voted unanimously in favour of the motion.

4. Election of new Chairman. A proposal was made and seconded for Gary Marshall to be the new party chairman. Gary Marshall explained his situation and said a little about himself for the benefit of members who did not know him. The vote for Gary Marshall to take the role of Chairman was unanimous. (Proposer: Peter Mills, Seconder: James Fitton.)

5. Election of committee. The original committee of British Freedom had been unelected, and had been appointed by Peter Mullins. Votes were taken by the members democratically to appoint the new chairman and committee. The constitution does not allow for postal voting, but all members joining prior to 16th January 2011 had been invited to the meeting. Election results for the committee were as follows:

Deputy Chairman: Roger Bennett (Proposer: Michael Simpkins, Seconder: Peter Mills)

Treasurer: John Savage (Proposer: Gary Marshall, Seconder: James Fitton)

Membership Secretary: Gwen Jenkins (Proposer: Sue Bowen, Seconder: Peter Mills)

National Nominating Officer: Michael Simpkins (Proposer: Gary Marshall, Seconder: James Fitton)

Other Executive Committee roles were vacant and suitable people would be sought to fill them at a later date. The necessary paperwork to notify change of Chairman and Treasurer will now be completed and sent to the Electoral Commission.

6. AOB: Hamilton Chant asked: what if Mullins, Barnes and Bennett do not release the party? Michael Simpkins replied that it would be up to the Electoral Commission to decide the issue.

John Savage suggested that when the changes have been made with the Electoral Commission, the website domain names should be asked for and taken out of Simon Bennett’s control. (John had originally paid for these names on behalf of the party).

Gwen Jenkins asked: what can we do about members joining online? Their money would go into Paypal, but their memberships would not be processed as we have no access to them. John Savage replied that we are unable to do anything about that at this stage.

Peter Mills said: No one felt strongly enough that Peter Mullins should remain as Chairman, or they would have attended the meeting to vote.

Christopher Green: Presumably Mullins, Barnes and Bennett will be brought up on disciplinary charges themselves, and a fair and democratic decision will be made.

Gwen Jenkins: Damage has been done to the party by this situation, but until now only two people have resigned from the party. Hamilton Chant suggested we should contact these people once the situation is back on an even keel.

7. New Chairman’s closing speech: Gary Marshall finished off the meeting by saying that the members of the Executive Committee who had been appointed today, had been put there by democratic vote. We could now get on with the job of building the party.

No respect

I find it so....what's the word, sad, disrespectful, annoying when political parties jump on band wagons to increase their funds.

I am still on the BNP's mailing list so I get it in the post and email. The first was the case of the B&B owners who were found guilty because they refused to let out a room to a gay couple. The BNP made it their news as if they were the ones reporting it even though it was in all the papers and TV the week before. No for the BNP this is a money making opportunity.

Help us fight back against political in-correctness. DONATE, DONATE DONATE! The BNP can't make their own news so they grab someone else's, make it out as their own and ask you for money to put it right.

Today's email was about a young Royal Marine injured in Afghanistan where 2 Muslim councillors remained seated while the rest of the council gave him a standing ovation. It wasn't a BNP news story but they deemed it appropriate to ask for money to put it right, as if they could turn back the clock and make it never happen. No less than three DONATE buttons in one email.

If there is one thing that really gets to me is someone trying to profit out of someone elses suffering.

My vision of a nationalist party that I dream of belonging to is one that stands for everything that is good about Nationalism to such an extent that it doesn't really matter if the UAF, Searchlight, the press or the police were sat in the back of the hall while we had a meeting because there would be nothing going on to be ashamed of or to hide.

One where you can book meeting places without secret re-direction points or where there is no need for your opponents to threaten the venue with a good trashing if it goes ahead.

Nationalism doesn't have to be extreme, nasty, offensive, racist, discriminatory or divisive. It just has to be honest, genuine and perhaps an understanding that maybe not everyone is going to agree with you, but that doesn't make them bad people or us too.

The British Freedom Party is facing a members’ revolt after only two months into its existence after 11 of its members (1/6th of its entire membership) which include 4 members of its Executive Council were expelled this week.

Formed in November 2010 by some of the more moderate members of The British National Party, The British Freedom Party promised to be everything that the BNP was not. Their ideology was one of cultural nationalism as opposed to the far right’s racial nationalism. Their motto says “It’s about culture – not colour.”

Democratically controlled by the members instead of the dictatorship style leadership they had become used to in their BNP days it all turned sour when many members started voicing concerns over the abusive and aggressive behaviour of the party’s Legal Officer Mr Lee John Barnes. Their reward for voicing concerns to the party Chairman, retired Squadron Leader Peter Mullins was instant expulsion.

Of the 11 expelled, 4 held senior posts within the new party. The Nominating Officer, responsible for authorising election candidates. The Membership Secretary, the Treasurer and Communications Officer.

All 11 claim that their expulsion was unconstitutional and have seized control of the party in a palace coup, appointing Corsham Town Councillor Michael Simpkins as an interim Chairman pending a special members meeting to be held near Cheltenham on 6th February where they will call for a vote of no confidence in Mr Mullins.

This leaves the fledgling party in stalemate as on one side the ousted Chairman retains control of their web site and little else while the others control the membership details, bank account and authority to stand in elections.

Michael Simpkins told their supporters. "We the expelled party officers have taken control of the party and handed it back to you the members"

I have taken control of the The British Freedom Party - And handed it back to its members.

On the 17th and 18th January 2011 The British Freedom Party's Legal Officer, Mr Lee Barnes did abuse and threaten by email senior and founder members of the Party.

These members and others, including 4 members of the Executive Council did write to the Chairman, Mr Peter Mullins asking for disciplinary action to be taken against Mr Barnes.

The Chairman's response was to expel all those who had complained which includes Mr Michael Simpkins, the Nominating Officer. Ms Michelle Marshall, the Treasurer. Mr Gary Marshall, the Media Officer, Mrs. Gwen Jenkins, the Membership Secretary, Mr Roger Bennett, the SW Regional Chairman, Mr Peter Mills, deputy SW Chairman and writer for the web site. Mr Brin Jenkins, founder member and donor.

All these and other members not mentioned dispute the expulsions and consider them null and void on the grounds of:

An Emergency Expulsion Order has to be agreed by Mr Lee Barnes as the Party legal Officer along with the Party Discipline Officer which we did not have. Mr Mullins appointed Ms Verity Blake, partner of Mr Simon Bennett, 5 minute prior to issuing the orders.

Quite clearly Mr Barnes is involved in this dispute and has to have a conflict of interest.

The expelled group are also accused of trying to overthrow the web master, Simon Bennett. (This is denied) Clearly Ms Blake has a conflict of interest as well and neither are in a position to work independently and in an unbiased way.

The Chairman, in expelling 4 members of his Executive Council in one go has breached the constitution in failing to get a two thirds majority of his Executive Council to agree on the removal of another.

7 (g) (9) The Party Chairman will be able to request the removal of an unelected Executive Council member by a two thirds majority vote of the Council at any time.

Myself and Ms Marshall being 2 of the 3 named officers of the party with The Electoral Commission (Our governing body)do hereby give notice to all members that as of 16:00 hrs on the 21st day of January 2011 Mr Mullins was today relieved of his duties as Chairman of the Party due to the aforementioned breach and abuse of powers.

I Michael Simpkins, a named officer with The Electoral Commission, do hereby give notice to all British Freedom Party members that with the approval of Ms Marshall, two other members of the Executive Council and other members that with immediate effect I have taken on the role of Interim Chairman of The British Freedom Party. The electoral Commission have been informed accordingly and I will hold this post until a Special Members Meeting is held in the near future at a place, date and time to be notified to all members by post.

At this meeting the events will be discussed and a motion will be voted on whether to reinstate Mr Mullins as Chairman. If the vote goes against Mr Mullins then the meeting shall elect a new Chairman and Vice Chairman. Any person being a paid up member of the party before 1st January 2011 may come forward to be Chairman or Vice Chairman so long as they are proposed and seconded by another member who joined prior to 1st January 2011.

Just a quick update to announce we have had our first British Freedom meeting in Wiltshire. A cosy venue in Corsham on Sunday afternoon over a coffee to meet up with old friends it was a very productive meeting.

Venue was a nice cafe bar in Corsham where we sat on comfy chairs and chatted over a coffee.

We agreed that this was a far better sort of venue than a pub. Other suitable venues for future meetings we agreed on were farm shops and garden centres, all have nice cosy cafes. We are going to move away from the BNP style meeting of all face the front and get lectured by the organiser to sitting around a coffee table and talk amongst ourselves. Far more productive.

Other subjects discussed.

Leafleting/getting the word out. We all agreed that door to door leafleting outside of an election solely for recruitment was not productive because you can only target one small part of the town giving leaflets to people who are not interested while you are missing out on the people who are interested but not in that leafleted area.

Standing in the town centre handing out leaflets to people who want to take one means you are covering people from all over the town and if they are not interested they won’t take one. Election times are different because it is votes you are chasing,

Another way was an advert in a local paper which I will look into.

They liked The Road To Freedom leaflet.

The logo. They like it. Likened it to a tail of a BA jet and when I mentioned pepsi cola they could see the similarity but in either case it wasn’t a problem as both are good brands. They said why don’t you make it into a badge, no writing just that circle logo then people will ask me what it is and I can say “British Freedom”. Told them we are making a variety of badges.

They also don’t have a problem with being referred to as a “Fluffy Party”. Fluffy is nice.

Election by deceit

I see an interesting story has hit one of the internet forums about Wiltshire BNP and their election strategy. It appears the only way they can get in is under the radar of not actually telling anyone that they are in the BNP. Well I suppose that makes some sense because there is no way they would get elected if voters knew they were in the BNP.

I could take some time in proving this to be genuine but luckily someone called "Corsham Crusader" has saved me the task and admitted it in the next post.

I know this went on while I was a BNP organiser but a lot of things went on that I wasn't happy with, one of the reasons I left. This tactic puts every single genuine "independent" councillor at risk because they face inquisition from their electorate on whether they are BNP or not, and how do they prove not. The same at an election if a candidate wishes to be an independent.

Further down the thread you will see they claim to have eight non declared councillors in the south west. Well as an ex organiser of three groups I can tell you they are not in Wiltshire if anywhere. Of course I could easily boast that British Freedom has 25 parish councillors already but I won't tell you who and where. Any more offers on 25? (Actually it's currently two).

The reality is that why should anyone keep their membership of a political party a secret unless they have something to be ashamed of. I can assure all readers that when British Freedom stands candidates in May everyone will know because they will be proud to announce their membership of a non racist nationalist party.

Who loses wins.

It was said by political analysts long before the general election that the party to do best would be the party that loses.

All 3 big players knew that who ever won the election, such would be the massive spending cuts they would need to impose, that it would consign them to one term only followed by years in the wilderness.

Secretly Labour didn't want to win. It would suit them far better to re-group in opposition under a new leader and ride in on the bow wave of Cameron's failure to please the British public.

While all political pundits were predicting a hung parliament no-one fore saw a full blown coalition. They are incorrect when they say that is what we voted for. There must be a valid argument against the party finishing in 3rd place ending up with so much power including the deputy prime minister and likewise a valid argument for a coalition of the top two parties.

It is the Lib Dems who are suffering the most as this Daily Telegraph poll shows their support down to 11% from their election 25% result. Much of this is down to the public's and media's inability to understand coalition politics and blaming the Lib Dems for breaking promises they were never in a position to keep.

So it looks like the Lib Dems will be the biggest losers at the end of the day and we must now look at where their vote will go. To do this we have to remember that they are in effect the result of a merger of two parties. The old Liberal Party and the break away Labour group The Social Democratic Party. Most certainly the SDP vote will return to Labour in it's industrial heartlands. The reason so many Lib Dems were against a coalition with the Conservatives was that they are really from a socialist background.

That leaves the liberal half of the Lib Dem vote. First it is wrong to assume that only liberals vote Lib Dem. Much of the Lib Dem vote is purely down to thinking that they can't be worse than the other two, a safer option. They always came over as the nice boys of British politics, until now that is. Our politics is 10% policy and 90% image.

The relevance of all this to British Freedom is that we need to start looking at where we will pick up our votes. If rely solely on disgruntled BNP, EDP and UKIP voters we will always be as small and ineffective as them. Each and every British Freedom member should now be looking at the political battlefield in the area they live in. The Lib Dem's failure could be our perfect storm as Britain looks for a new political direction.

The country is waiting for Freedom!

Education & tuition fees

Watching the events over the tuition fees proved one thing and that is that generally speaking people don't understand politics. Leaving the rights and wrongs of tuition fees aside let's remember that the idea of scrapping them was and still is a Lib Dem policy which they promised to implement if they succeeded with a Lib Dem government. We don't have a Lib Dem or Conservative government; we have a coalition government so any pre-election manifestos go out of the window. No-one is breaking a promise because neither is in a position to carry out those promises without the agreement of the other.

Now why all these students having been peeing up against statues of Winston Churchill and trying to ram the police with their home made riot shields you would think that young people of that standard of education would have looked at the detail of the proposal and focused the public's attention to two very important issues about tuition fees that have gone relatively unreported. They are:

1. Even though they do not have to pay anything back until they earn £21,000 PA, the interest on that loan is still compounding at I believe 3% + the base rate. Therefore the longer they go on not paying it, the more they will eventually have to pay back. Now consider that with the following point.

2. There is no facility in the student loan to pay it back early. As with any other loan or mortgage it is an entitlement to redeem the loan early and avoid interest. A student loan can only be repaid through the tax system thus committing the student to 30 years of repayments whether they are in a position to repay in full or not.

I don't actually have a problem with giving students a free university education but there is only so much money in the kitty and while we are paying out £13 billion to foreign countries to educate their children we cannot afford to do it to ours as well. It is a question of priorities, our children or somebody else’s?

A free university education must come at a price of some sort as I believe you get out what you put in. A commitment to work in this country for a number of years would be a start and a period of voluntary community service would result in credits being awarded to go towards university or apprenticeship.

More importantly our whole education system needs looking at from the age of 14 up. We are asking young people to choose and discard subjects at too earlier age due to the focus being on GCSE's, A levels and degrees when in reality a young person hasn't got a clue which career path they want until they reach their early 20's.

Too many people regard the degree as the be all and end all of qualifications when chances are they will end up in a career that their degree wasn't required for. For some it is merely social status with it already being decided for them that they will go to university before they are even born.

I suggest a more rounded education up to 18 where all academic subjects are taught with the option to opt in to non academic studies such as art or drama. There must be then just one exam at 18 on all subjects, the results of which determine the students’ need for further education or training. The 16 – 18 period is when they would carry out voluntary work in the community.

I expect life as we know it to come to a stand still again as the snow starts to fall. It shouldn't have to, we just have to adjust accordingly. Life happens a lot slower than normal but it still goes on.

Please think of elderly neighbours who can't get out to shop and make sure they are warm enough.

A word about those yellow grit bins - they are there for us all to use. Anyone can grit roads and pavements that the council can't get too. You are just not allowed to use them to grit your own drive way. Did I hear someone say Oh I'll get sued if someone slips - absolute rubbish! There is no legal precedent for suing a person who clears a path of snow and ice as long as they don't intentionally make the condition worse. In any case the threat of litigation is not an excuse for not doing anything at all, it should be seen as an excuse to do a proper job in the first place.

I am now going to pass on some driving tips I gave out last year.
I can’t actually blame anyone for poor driving in snow and ice (unless you are simply going too fast) because for one we are not used to it and secondly there is no part of the driving instruction or test that teaches you to drive in adverse conditions. All my taxi drivers undergo training on a skid pan at Castle Combe, a three hour course teaching you to handle all types of skid control and braking. I highly recommend it and at £89 is probably the best present you will ever buy your other half or yourself.

Firstly it all comes down to grip or lack of it. Just as I wear my winter hiking boots for better grip so I need decent tyres to have any chance at all. A tyre that is just legal might do for a dry summer road but in the winter consider changing them earlier. At least look at front and back tyres and put the better tyres onto the drive wheels, normally the front on modern cars but check, they are the ones that spin when you get stuck in the snow!

Starting off: Do it gently with low revs and allow more time for other traffic to pass. They can’t stop quickly the same as you. Try starting in second gear if first gives to much revs.

Driving in a straight line is easy it is only when you need to stop or turn a corner that problems arise, sounds obvious but you need to think ahead and have the right speed, preferably without braking before you need to stop or turn. Allow ten times more distance to stop! If the wheels lock release the brakes. Sounds frightening when you are on a collision course but you will never stop with the wheels locked. Release the brakes and re-apply gently, release and re-apply in a gentle pumping action. ABS doesn’t work in snow and ice. Keep the clutch out until the last possible minute to allow the engine to assist slowing you.

One of the most common accidents is failing to stop in time at a junction, so plan to stop three feet before the give way line. Turning a bend or corner should be with just the engine speed and no brakes or acceleration. Gently accelerate once you are heading in a straight line again.

Going down a steep hill can be frightening but handled correctly can be manoeuvred. Stop at the top of the hill, engage first gear let the clutch fully out and gently cover the brake pedal. Use the engine to keep the speed down. Remember you might need to stop at the bottom so think well ahead.

Going up a slippery hill is hard. You need momentum before you hit the hill as doing a hill start will be nigh on impossible if the tyres can’t grip. Try not to stop until you get to the top. If you get stuck the only thing you can do is engage reverse, go back and try again with a bit more momentum or find another route. If you can’t do it, it’s not your fault – blame gravity.

Skid control. Ideally if driving carefully as mentioned you won’t get into a skid. In all types of skid the two important rules are DON’T BRAKE and DON’T ACCELERATE. In fact keep both feet firmly on the floor until you regain control.

A four wheel skid I mentioned earlier. This happens when braking too hard and all wheels lock. Release the brakes and re-apply gently.

A front wheel skid occurs when a front wheel drive car turns a corner and the front wheels fail to grip. The effect being that while you want to go left of right the car will go in its previous direction of travel. You need to slow down to allow the front tyres to get some grip. Remove your foot away from the accelerator and allow the engine to slow the car, DON'T BRAKE, when the tyres begin to grip the car will turn in the direction that you are steering. Front tyres grip better in a straight line so try steering less into the bend and re-steer.

A rear wheel drive car like BMW’s and Mercedes are prone to rear wheel skids and a nightmare to drive in this weather. A rear wheel skid is where the rear wheels try to overtake you and occurs when you take a corner too fast or accelerate too early out of a corner. Again remove the acceleration and brakes and gently steer into the skid. In other words, if the back end is swinging out to the right, steer gently to the right. This will get the car in a straight line again.

Now to practice. Go and find an empty supermarket or pub car park and try out all three types of skid.

A very sucessfull meeting of the British Freedom Executive last Sunday in the heart of Somerset. It was a chance for the whole team to get together and brainstorm and we have some excellent ideas to move forward with.

On my part I am pleased to accept the role of National Nominating Officer with the Party, taking over from Michaela Mackenzie. Michaela took on the role initially to get the party off the ground and will now concentrate on other party business behind the scenes.

James Whittall (Press) and Gary Marshall (Media) have the job of promoting the Party while Michelle Marshall, our treasurer will contol of the purse strings.

Getting on with being a British Freedom councillor

I am pleased to report that I have had a successfull outcome into my investigation into parking rights of Stone Close residents. It took a lot of digging and I had to go right back to the developers for an answer. However I now have the original plan showing everyones parking slot as well as the two spare visitor slots. If any Stone Close residents need a copy of the plan, please get in touch with me.

The Corsham community campus looks like it is a very much done deal which will mean the demolition of the existing community centre. All we can do is be involved in the planning process as much as possible to ensure that existing facilities are replicated in the new "campus". There is a final public consultation meeting on 1st December at 7pm in the Community Centre, please come along if you have views you want to put accross.

British Freedom is going from strength to strength with some big names joining us. More importantly they are the more moderate nationalists, the ones without the divisive or intolerent views. I must say it is amazing how many people want to befriend me since I left the BNP. I never got a "come over here and sit with us" before and it is plainly the BNP they had the problem with and not me personaly.

For those who think it was a spur of the moment decision, it wasn't, this was planned for some time. I and others did our best to rid it of it's extremism, underlying racism and gimmickery but in the end we were probably outnubered by hard core far right nationalists who long for a pre 1948 Britain. British Freedom on the other hand is attracting the right sort of nationalist.

British Freedom is a professional outfit which will concentrate on politics instead of publicity gestures. I am also pleased to say that I have been offered a senior position within the party stucture, more on that when it is officially announced.

Britain's £4.8 trillion debt.

There now follows a party political broadcast by The British Freedom Party. Well maybe not but Channel 4's broadcast of "Britain's Trillion pound horror story" may well have been.

It is a facinating insight into the public sector verses the private sector and the level of Britain's national debt. The national debt is not to be confused with the national defecit which many MP's in the film do. The national debt is 4.8 trillion pounds and rising. When this current government talks of cuts they really mean not increasing the debt by as much as before, but it is still increasing.

The whole film is just over an hour but well worth veiwing. If you do not have that time available now, here are a couple of excerpts.

Now I know there will be public sector workers who will say ah yes but I pay tax too! Yes you do but only about one fith of your income. The other 4/5ths has to come from private sector tax payers. However if there are more public sector workers than private sector workers there is going to be a shortfall and the government has to borrow money to make up the difference.

I am pleased to announce that I have joined the recently formed British Freedom Party.

I have studied the policies of British Freedom in detail and they are clearly for the good of the whole country without being divisive or discriminatory to others. British Freedom’s ideology is one of cultural nationalism as opposed to the BNP’s racial nationalism.

British cultural nationalism aims to preserve and protect the culture handed down to us by our ancestors but will not rule out anyone belonging to that British culture out on the grounds of race, religion or ethnic origin.

There is a vacuum in British politics waiting to be filled by a party with moderate views while still wishing Britain to remain British. British Freedom ticks all the boxes for me.

The British Freedom Party is the only political party in our democratic system that represents and promotes British values and culture.

I'm back

During my short break I decided to play tourist and visit the Roman Baths in Bath. I've lived in this area for 14 years and never had a chance to. A fascinating insight into Roman history in 1st century Britain and takes a good 2 hours to see it all. Most of it is underground as modern day Bath sits about 20 feet higher than Roman Bath. I highly recommend it if you are in this area.

While in Bath I also had the chance to do a follow up visit to Prince Charles' Highgrove Shop and check out their wheelchair access after they promised me they would. Glad to say they are good to their word and have a portable ramp in place. The CEO of Highgrove wrote to me and said this was a temporary measure until they install a permanent ramp. Another positive result for my Easy Access campaign.

I don't travel too far to take a holiday as I like to be close to the business should anything go wrong. Fortunately there is a very nice 5 star hotel with michellin star restaurant not too far a way. It might sound extravagant but I'm sure it would cost more to have 2 weeks in Ibiza.

A bit of catching up to do on all the ins and outs of nationalist politics while I have been out of the loop. I see the monthly meeting in Melksham of my old group turned out to be a Wiltshire executive meeting. Probably because we always had to rely on members from all over the county to put the attendees in double figures. Still I don't wish any of them ill will, after all it was not them who were not paying the bills.

I have also been bombarded with phone calls from journalists all over the country looking for more "BNP dirt". However something I don't have to do any more is talk to journos on BNP matters. One did hint at a joint court action of all known creditors. Ouch!

There are some new kids on the block in the form of British Freedom. Looking through their group pages they seem to be attracting a lot of the more of the moderate BNP'ers to their ranks. I suspect those I left behind thought I would jump ship straight away but sorry to disappoint but I haven't. They may not even want me as I appear to have accumulated some guilt by past associations. Would be nice to hear from one of BF's head honchos though, keeping options open for all.

Finally I am a Saturday night driver down as part of the fall out of leaving the BNP. I have always tried to keep my work apart from politics but for some people it is not that easy.

Council matters

Before I do go off on my hols I thought I can update readers on what I should be doing and that is being a good councillor. I had a walkabout with one of the residents today in Rudloe and he gave me a long list of things that need doing. The list (below for reference) shall be passed on to the relevant departments.

It is nice to see residents taking concern in where they live and taking their issues to the people who maybe able to put them right. Any other Rudloe issues can be emailed to me here at this address.

1. General weeding of pavements.

2. The road name sign for Northcroft Rd is missing.

3. Some more dog waste or general litter bins strategically placed.

4. Poor condition of pavements. There are some dangerous trip hazards.

5. Can they have a recycling facility in the car park?

6. They would like to see a fence around the football pitch area to stop children running onto the road chasing after their footballs.

7. Some flower beds perhaps at the entrance to the estate by the Welcome to Rudloe sign.

8. There is a broken wall in the car park by the shop. Someone drove into it.

9. Garage areas need cleaning and tidying.

10. Speed bumps at places like school entrance and shop around the ring road and consider making the ring road, that is Leylands Rd/Westwood Rd, into a one way system.

Big decisions

Big decisions take big men to make them and it wasn't easy to walk away from the BNP after 6 years of work. However the people who have criticised me, and there are a few, fail to understand the meaning or concept of integrity.

in·teg·ri·ty - adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

It is what being a politician is all about, doing what you'd expect those who would vote for you would do.

I haven't come through 6 years of BNP membership, 3 of those as a councillor without taking a bit of flak. It doesn't quite go down as well when some of those giving it were thought to be your friends. C'est la vie!

Important announcement

Cash flow is the life blood of any business. Of course cash flow doesn’t have to be cash. It can be money in a bank account in credit or form of an overdraft. It can be available credit on a credit card or simply cash in hand. When it runs out the business cannot operate.

I have been in that situation too often. It is not because the business is not performing, it is because most businesses to business transactions are done on a buy now pay later basis. In other words I do the work and send out an invoice. There is a large element of trust involved that the invoiced business will pay on time; if they don’t I still have to pay my bills on time and that is when the cash flow dries up.

When the cash flow dries up you have to go cap in hand to the bank to increase your own borrowing at a cost to you or not pay your own bills on time, leaving you with a history of tardy payments to your own creditors. Worst of all you cannot pay yourself a wage out of your own business and your family goes without.

Therefore I am disappointed to hear that The British National Party is not paying its bills. I know from personal experience of two local printers who had to wait six months for payment and that was only after a lot of badgering to Head Office by myself and other officials to get them paid. These are small family businesses like my own who take a risk doing any work for the BNP. It is also personally embarrassing when you walk into that business and get told that they still haven’t been paid.

It has been confirmed to me that the Party has attempted to enter into a voluntary payment agreement with its creditors of 20% of all money owed in final settlement. These are businesses like the two mentioned before that risked all doing business with the BNP and supplied the goods or services on trust that they would be paid. More importantly they will undoubtedly be British businesses, the kind of business we claim to support and encourage.

These businesses may well suffer financial hardship because the BNP has dried up their cash flow and their families will go without. They may even go out of business and certainly won’t do business with us again. It is not the way I do business.

As an honourable businessman I cannot stay with any organisation that puts other businessmen out of business or their families in financial hardship. More importantly it is a breach of trust and may even be criminal if the intent to pay was never there in the first place.

For these reasons I am resigning my membership of the British National Party with immediate effect. I will retain my place on Corsham Town Council until the end of the current term in 2013 and reconsider my options then.

I have said before and I'll say it again. What any individual gives to charity whether home or overseas is a private matter. You should give what you can afford. However it would be very wrong of me to give money I do not have to charity and see my own family go without.

The government had alternatives, they could have frozen the overseas aid at £9b. No while 500,000 public sector workers face losing their jobs, rest assured that those of us who are left as tax payers are footing the 34% (£4b) increase to the rest of the world.

BNP roadshow comes to Malmesbury

Following on from our successful day in Devizes last week we moved on to Malmesbury today. It was a quiet day in town and because of the topography of the town the best place to set up the stall was outside the Town Hall. The High Street is narrow and to set up there would have meant us blocking the pavement.

Still a useful venture into a town where we were never sure the level of support we had. Several passers by took leaflets and more signatures were added to the petition. Even the local Lib Dem Wiltshire councillor had the courtesy of saying hello and introducing himself. We had a good chat on the war in Afghanistan and I think it is fair to say we shared similar views on the subject. To stop Cllr Simon from getting grief from his head office I will point out that he did not sign our petition nor show support for any of the BNP's political views. However he was very polite and did not object to us being there as opposed to Devizes Town councillor Ian Hopkins who described the BNP in the local paper as “an evil and pernicious organisation".

Oh and in Devizes a woman actually dialled 999 and informed the police the BNP were campaigning in the town centre!

Did anyone see the BBC One Show this Thursday 30th September. I can link to it here but it is only available on i player for 7 days after the show. fast forward to 2.10m.

It seems shock horror many of us are concerned about recent reports that we are being sold halal meat without our knowledge, what is all the fuss about?

So the BBC rolls out Mr Joe Public who is just as angered as we are and take him on a guided tour of a halal abattoir. Oh look at those cute sheep aren't they looking happy. Into the killing zone there are 3 people involved. The first stuns it (we never saw it stunned). The second says a prayer over it (that really impressed Mr. Public) while the third cuts the throat. Apparently the only difference between halal and our meat is the prayer bit, no great deal.

Finaly Joe Public is wined and dined in a muslim restaurant where he notices how there is no difference in taste. He is converted. Only the marxist BBC could roll out such anti British propaganda.

Lets skip back to the killing zone. Only muslims can work in a halal abattoir. Surely that has to be against employment discrimination law? The prayer said is a muslim prayer to a muslim god. Yet Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus, Pagans, atheists and Jedi Knights all have to bow down to muslim practice. Why?

Confirmed in the report is that 95% off all New Zealand lamb is halal. Start eating Welsh lamb folks.

This is one step closer to sharia rule. Be warned!

Do you know what you are eating?

When I warn people that Islam is slowly taking over every aspect of our lives I know not everyone believes me. For those who do not read this Mail on Sunday investigation.

It shows the extent that halal meat is being put before us without our knowledge. Halal is the method of animal slaughter used by and for muslims. It involves the animals throat being cut whilst still fully concious and bleeding to death. Importantly in this barbaric method the spinal cord is not allowed to be cut which means the animal still feels all the pain up until the point that it's heart finally gives up through lack of blood in it. It must also have a prayer to Allah said over it so it is dedicated to the Muslim god.

Now there are those woolly liberal minded zealots who come out with meaningless phrases to placate us all like; well you have been eating it for years and it's never done you any harm or the animal suffers less pain this way than our slaughter method. They all miss the point. The point is made best by the spokesman for Twickenham which sells only halal chicken despite not advertising the fact, insisted that the lack of transparency ‘had never been an issue’ and said: ‘Our consideration is more for those who want halal, to ensure they get it.’

In other words it is the muslims needs that are put over the needs of the rest of us.

Other well known institutions serving only halal meat are Wembley Stadium and Ascot, icons of Britishness and hardly a place for your sharia following muslim.

Food outlets known to serve halal are Premier Inn (who run Brewsters and Brewers Fayre). Costa Coffee, KFC, Subway and Asda and many more who just won't tell us, including the country's top schools and hospitals.

You need to ask and if in doubt don't buy there or choose something with pork.

BNP Launches“Support Our Troops – Bring Our Boys Home” Campaign

The British National Party in Wiltshire has launched a “Support Our Troops – Bring Our Boys Home” campaign which includes a petition to demand the immediate withdrawal of all our troops from the illegal and unwinnable war in Afghanistan.

The campaign, which is part of a national effort being rolled out by the party across the country, was marked by party activists leafleting, gathering signatures and canvassing in the garrison town of Warminster. Shoppers queued at the BNP table to sign the petition including many serving soldiers from the nearby barracks. Over 200 signatures were obtained.

“The BNP was the first party to oppose the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. All of our predictions have been proven correct. The wars have increased terrorism, cost hundreds of British lives and eaten away billions of pounds from an already bankrupt economy,” says Sean Witheridge, local organiser for the BNP Salisbury Branch.

“The BNP calls on the Government to end this illegal, bloody, futile and unwinnable war with immediate effect.”

I like a man (or woman) who says it as it really is. “When you arrive at Heathrow you think at times that you’ve landed in a Third World country.”

I visit Heathrow quite often in my job and I know what he means. Apart from having to learn Italian or French just to order a black coffee with a dash of milk (that's an Americano by the way). If I asked for a white coffee I would end up with a Latte (that's a coffee made with hot milk and not water). Then do I need it maxisimo or venti?

Back to the Cardinals words and considering Heathrow is England's major airport it is definitely spot the Englishman or woman. You'd expect the passengers to be of diverse nationalities, it is an airport after all, but the staff? Before you mention it, yes they do have non white skin colour and that is because the majority of them originate from Pakistan, India or Bangladesh which are by natural definition third world countries and of concern to a Roman Catholic cardinal is that they are not Christian countries.

Now imagine if Heathrow was representative of the whole country? When people accuse me of racism because I am concerned that at current immigration and birth rates the white Britons will be a minority in their own country, I ask OK so what percentage of non indigenous population would be too much for you to accept? 50% 60% 70%. It is a question they cannot answer because to do so may make them just a little racist too.

Spending Review - What can we afford?

A cut in national police forces of 40,000 officers is what some Chief Constables are warning followed by an increase in crime and civil disorder. There simply isn’t the money to pay for them.

As much as Labour always spouted on about X amount of extra police officers on the beat since they came to power, what they omitted to say was that the money to pay for them was all borrowed. Borrowed money has to be paid back and that time is with us now.

The local Corsham BNP have been talking of resurrecting the famous Community Observation Patrols however I feel the situation may go too far for even the BNP Patrols to save us. The observation patrols were simply what it says, observation, and relied on the police being available to respond to their reports. Those police officers will not be there anymore to act and we may have to go down the route of resident vigilante groups each looking after their own neighbourhood.

Of course it doesn’t have to be that way. As in any good housekeeping it is a matter of prioritising what is important and what is not. An answer of “No we can’t afford it” is recalled from my childhood. We spent our money on the most important things.

Imagine saying can I have £5 billion to fight a pointless war in Afghanistan the answer right now must surely be no.

Imagine saying can I have £13 billion to give away to Pakistan, India, China, Russia, and many more.

The answer right now would be “no we can’t afford it”.

So when you are burgled in the middle of the night or you are lying on a street corner beaten up on your second robbery of the week, reassure yourself that at least we are killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan and paying for Pakistan’s and India’s nuclear arsenal.

Alternatively you could have voted British National party.

Tony Blair foils my plans

The best laid plans of mice and men.........I intended this coming Wednesday to visit London for the book signing of Tony Blairs book. Quite frankly how anybody can have the bare faced cheek to actually make money out of other peoples suffering is beyond me, but that is politicians for you.

As the British National Party contingent protested outside the book store I was all for going inside on the pretence of having a book signed by our Tone and when the opportunity arose slap the handcuffs on him, the other one being attached to my wrist. Thereby making a symbolic gesture of a citizens arrest on behalf of the British Armed Forces, Iraqi and Afghanistan civilians. You see what I have noted from history is that you only get war criminals on the losing side, but Blair is much a war criminal as Saddam Hussein is.

Unfortunately it appears Tony "bottled it" and has pulled out using increased police costs as an excuse. That in itself says it all as any normal author writing any normal book under any normal circumstances wouldn't need to autograph his book for his "fans" under police guard.

So chance missed, another time maybe?

Easy access campaign

I am pleased to announce that the dental surgery in Pickwick Rd, Corsham now has a set of portable wheelchair ramps and patients can now gain access through the front door.

I have two further premises in my sights that I am working on, on behalf of people who have contacted me for help.

The first being HSBC bank in Corsham High St where you can see from the photo has a set of steps at it's entrance. In fairness to HSBC they did apply for planning permission for a ramp which was rejected by the council, although I suspect this may have been some time ago as opinion is now changing and it may well go ahead today if submitted. However I always stress that wheelchair access has not got to be a permanent feature and thus exempt from planning regulation.

HSBC's current policy is that the staff would come out into the street to do your banking. Hardly a good idea if you want to pay in cash and even worse if it is raining when a set of portable ramps would allow wheelchair users to go inside. I am in correspondence with HSBC's customer services and hope to get a positive result soon.

Case load number two is Prince Charles' Highgrove shop in Milsom St, Bath. Their only response to a potential customer was "We don't have wheelchair access."

I have written to the shop manager but I am still waiting for a reply. If one does not come I shall contact HRH The Prince of Wales personally. They have little excuse on this one as you can see from the two photos. The one with a step is the Highgrove shop but next door is Barclays bank with the same size step made into a nice ramp.

BNP Summer School (updated)

I thought I would leave you a couple of pictures from the 2010 Summer School that I attended this week end on the Welsh/English border. I must emphasise Summer School is all work and little play so don't expect to see members dancing around May poles, this was serious stuff. For my part I focused on media training to assist my position as South West Regional Press Officer ably taught by Arthur Kemp.

I also attended lessons on election day procedures and was given a valuable insight into the new BNP online election software that will enable us to contest future elections with 21st century techniques.

65 serious BNP activists turned up for lessons in eight marquees and the week end was a good experience for all despite Saturdays wet weather. Saturday night (after some Grolsh) was spent under canvass to awake to a bright sunny Sunday morning.

10 out of 10 must go to the catering who provided us all with nourishing but cheap food for the week end. £3.50 for a eat as much as you can buffet Saturday lunch, a free hog roast Saturday night and a £3 Sunday lunch I came back with money to spare. Well done.

Update: It appears I have a readership from some internet forums trying to talk down the event on the basis of the photos I have shown. Perhaps I should have made it clear in the first place, the photos are just a snippet of what went on and do not purport to indicate the total number of attendees but merely who was in my camera shot at the time of me pressing the button. For their information the group of people outside the tent were on a tea break between lessons, the rest were probably still queuing for their tea and bacon roll inside the tent. I would have photographed them as well had I realised the photos would have been used for evidential purposes of proving whether the event was a success or not.

As for the one lesson photo, there were 8 simultaneous lessons going on, however as my purpose was to learn and not to photograph I didn't think of taking shots of all 8 tents, but I have added one of Alwyn Deacon for them who gave an excellent lesson on polling day procedures.

Incidentaly, this same very same forum banned me on day one for saying something nice about Nick Griffin - says it all really doesn't it?

8 out 10 members say they prefer Nick Griffin

Well now that is finally out of the way we can get on with business. The nomination process for a leadership challenge in the party wimpered out with none of the challengers managing to get the required 20% support. Many of us expected that anyway as much of the hype was based on internet tittle tattle from sacked or otherwise disgruntled members. On the official nomination form the nearest challenger was Eddy Butler with 214 nominations, well short of the 840 required. In comparison 995 members who expressed a preference said they were content for Nick Griffin to carry on.

Even on his own unofficial form Mr Butler admits to only getting 500. He complains that the bar was set too high but if you cannot get the support of one fifth of members who have been in 2 years or more, how on earth can you expect to win the challenge outright? His other complaint was that no one in the party knows of him, again hardly a good qualification to be leader.

Like all big organisations the BNP has it's faults. I put then down to growing pains as I don't really think we have adjusted from being a big small party into what we are now a small big party. I also know that there is a programme of continuing development taking place and it won't all happen overnight. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will the modern BNP. However patience is one of my virtues.

What I do try and avoid is taking part in internet forums where anyone using any name can post any comment they like knowing full well enough people will believe it to cause a commotion.

I did for a short time take part in a couple BNP related forums and got banned for saying something good about the Party. Says it all really doesn't it.

Unless you voted BNP - Don't complain

In the same week that the ConDem regime announced plans to “overhaul” the benefits system for British people, the Department for International Development (DFID) announced a brand new foreign aid scheme designed to “boost employment” in the Third World.

Were you one of those who voted for them?

According to a DFID press release, a “new fund that will benefit a range of small to large civil society organisations” will be launched this year.

Apparently the objective of this new fund is to “support poverty-fighting groups who focus on delivering the Millennium Development Goals” and “targets to improve the lives of the world’s poorest, adopted in 2001.” The fund will give “innovation grants” and “impact grants” for projects aimed at “poverty reduction” in other countries. These grants will, the DFID informs us, “total £40 million in the first year” alone.

The British National Party is the only party which demands an end to the foreign aid swindle which sees British taxpayers going into debt in order to hand out cash to foreign aid recipients such as China, India, Pakistan, Russia and South Africa — all of whom have massive military expenditures of their own.

My Campaign for Easy Access

Being confined to a wheelchair is not restricted to any one group of people. Young or old, rich or poor, in fact it could happen to anyone of us tomorrow.
Easy Access is a campaign to raise awareness of the needs of people in wheelchairs to gain access to buildings and other places the rest of us take for granted. A 12 inch step may as well be a 12 foot wall but with a little bit of thought and consideration many obstacles can be overcome.

We aim to:
• Listen to people in wheelchairs and hear the problems they face.
• Speak up on their behalf to businesses and councils.
• Be aware as we go about our town looking out for access restrictions and;
• Offer simple and inexpensive solutions to make access easy for all.

A town accessible to people in wheelchairs will also benefit parents with a pushchair, elderly people with walking frames and anyone of us with a short term injury. Then it really is equal access for all.

Question: We don’t have any wheelchair customers?
Answer: That’s because they can’t get in!

I already have one positive result with the Pickwick Road dentist agreeing to make his front door accessible to wheelchairs and I have written to one of the Corsham banks. I will post all results here.

Mean residents on a Corsham housing development have stopped wheelchair bound patients from visiting their own dentist on Pickwick Rd over a dispute over access.

For over 20 years wheelchair patients have gained access to Mr Power’s dental surgery on Pickwick Rd via his back door as it is the only entrance suitable to place ramps for the wheelchairs. The land was previously used as a garage workshop but has since been developed into Porters Mead, a gated private housing development which also encloses the rear entrance of the dental surgery.

The “access with consent” remained until recently when the residents of Porters Mead withdrew that consent. Mr Power’s wheelchair patients are now forced to find another dentist with suitable access. It is believed the residents took exception to their entrance being blocked for just a couple of minutes while the passengers were loaded or unloaded from their transport. However the same no access rule also applies to patients being pushed to the surgery by their carer.

Access through the front door of the surgery is totally impracticable as there are too many steps to negotiate and in any case wheelchair accessible vehicles also need space to the side to position the wheelchair ramp. There is not room with the wall there. The best option was to park across the entrance for a minute while we unload the wheelchair passenger. It would be even easier if we were allowed through the gates to unload but the residents won’t let us do that either. I once had a confrontation with a snobby lady who wanted to drive in while I was clearly unloading a wheelchair passenger. When I pointed out that the passenger was in a wheelchair she responded. “I don’t care you are blocking my entrance.”

Disabled people face enough hardship and discrimination as it is without mean spirited residents not allowing them to visit the same dentist they have been seeing for years. What people fail to realise is that these people didn’t ask to be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of their lives and it can happen to anyone of us”.

Update to this story 30/07/2010 - Mr Powers tells me he is taking my advice and looking into portable wheelchair ramps for his front entrance for his disabled patients. This together with our new rear loading taxi due to arrive in August will alleviate any of the problems. This is the result of people working together for the benefit of the less fortunate.

Garden party

OK it wasn't quite Buckingham Palace and the dress code was less informal but not to be outdone by Nick Griffin MEP we held our own garden party at my residence in Corsham and welcomed members from Colerne, Melksham and Calne as well as local Corsham members. Here are some photos of the evening.

It looks like we may have a leadership challenge in the party. Those who say that Nick Griffin is approaching his or even past his best by date may have a valid point but I see no reason to replace Nick for the sake of change unless someone of a better calibre comes along and Eddie Butler is not the one. In fact Eddie Butler is just a cover for the skinhead and swastika brigade which this party is well rid off now and we don't want back again. Eddie Butler has a National Front history that would still be cause for criticism and false associations. Not only that but he is openly opposed to our Head of Fund-raising Mr Jim Dowson and the Belfast call centre and if he gets his way we will be operating out of someone's back room on a few thousand pounds a year.

I've heard Mike Chant is also on board the Eddy ship. After being expelled from the party he tried to form not one but two other nationalist parties, both failed. Kicked out of the south west region for shall we say "wandering hands", only got himself kick out of the south east for the same reason.

The Eddie Butler supporters list goes on, full of ex members with an axe to grind against Nick Griffin or Jim Dowson. The British National Party has become under the leadership of Nick Griffin and business acumen of Jim Dowson a professional outfit fit for 21st century politics. More importantly it has all but lost it's bad boy image with the public because the bad boys have gone. The only thing remaining is the baggage which the media fail to let go off and this is Nick's only downfall. If he could turn the clock back and unsay the things he said I'm sure he would, but wouldn't we all? The Party now occupies a position of moderate right wing politics, a position I feel most at home in, and the reason for the axe grinding of Eddie's supporters.

So when it comes to nailing my colours to the mast I am firmly on the side of Nick Griffin MEP.

Coming out of recession

I would have like to written a bit sooner but wow have we been busy at work. Maybe a sign that the recession is ending although of course one swallow doesn’t make a summer. Financial year 09/10 was certainly a struggle but for some reason May looks set to be a record month.

Now we are out of election season I need to tidy up some loose ends on this blog and get back to general political musings and I think the recent election campaign has shown that we still have a long way to go to improve our image and how the public perceive us. Of prime concern is that of extremism with the associated tags of racist and nazi of which I have never met any in my 6 years in this party. There are even Town Councillors who share a platform with me every council meeting, agree with me on some matters of council business and are as nice as anything to my face but in an election campaign will walk out of the hall if I attempt to speak, and some of these councillors cheekily label themselves “independent”. Public perception is something we can all play a part in. You are all nice people but does everyone you know realise that you are in the BNP?

The campaign brought us as a group 11 new enquirers who have all been written to and hopefully some may take the leap of faith and join us. All enquirers are also invited to our monthly meetings, without obligation, to come and see for themselves what we are like. Some do and I know it is a great difference from filling in a slip on a leaflet or even joining the party to actually having the courage to attend your first meeting, not knowing what you are going to walk into. Our meetings were a bit formal with one or two speakers addressing an audience but we are moving over to a more social format from now on with guest speakers invited less frequently so we can spend more time getting to know each other on a much more social level.

Last week’s meeting in Melksham was the first of this kind and I think went well as we all chatted quite freely amongst ourselves on the state of things in the country and our party. For the future we a have garden party, picnic and quiz night all planned. If we can build the attendees up over the next few months I will invite my friend Nick Griffin to be a guest speaker.

On the subject of Nick Griffin, he writes an excellent article on the BNP web site here explaining all that has gone on and yet to happen in the party. It is an extremely well written piece. It answers a lot of questions and put right any rumours that have been circulating the many internet forums.

Election analysis

I hope people are not feeling sorry for me. I am content with the result of coming 5th out of 8. We now know that our next target is UKIP and then Labour and that we can easily beat The Christians, Greens and English democrats in any future election.
You should however be feeling sorry for Channel 4 who have spent the last 3 years making a documentary on a poor black boy from Birmingham done good culminating in his election as Wiltshire’s first black MP. Many Tories I know now realise they picked the wrong candidate.

What is obvious but not before is that in such a tightly fought constituency where there would only be one of two possible winners is that the voters are not going to chance voting for a minor party. Instead they voted against the candidate they didn’t want to see elected. Hence the top two received 86% of the total vote leaving the other 6 to fight over the remaining 14%. If you take off the top two my 641 votes is actually 19% of the remaining six candidates.

More importantly the aim was to get as many votes nationally in readiness should state funding of political parties to be brought in with the next government. It would have been based on this election’s votes and is why we stood 19 candidates in the south west and 339 nationally. Now because we achieved 563,743 votes it is highly unlikely they will bring in state funding. Had we failed big time they would have. That’s politics.

What this election was clearly crying out for were voters to be able to give a second and third choice. This is The Alternate Voting System (AV) where instead of putting one X next to a candidate you number them all in order of preference 1 – 8. It ensures each winning candidate and ultimately the government is elected on more than 50% of the vote. In this case the Lib Dems were 5% short so the bottom candidate, The Christian Party would be eliminated and his 118 votes looked at and his second choice votes re-allocated. If that doesn’t give someone more than 50% then the next bottom candidate, The Eng Dem (who couldn't be bothered to turn up for the count)is eliminated and his 307 second choice votes re-allocated.

You would think that I would pick up most of UKIP’s 1783 second votes and the Eng Dems 307 second votes giving me over 2500. Of course what we do not know is who my own second votes would have gone to? This type of system although not proportional to the votes cast, could have prevented a hung parliament because one party would be guaranteed to exceed 50% of the national vote and picked up extra seats to give a working majority.

I keep meeting people who say they are going to vote for me tomorrow or have already voted for me by post. These same people were some of the shocked ones three years ago when they discovered that I was in the BNP. Over that time they have come to know me and realise that I am not what my opponents say I am.

I don’t know how I will do tomorrow, I may win and if so I am prepared for it. Wherever I come I don’t believe we could have done any more with the money, time and people available. The Lib Dems have been putting something through our letter boxes every day delivered by Royal Mail and they must be near the limit of their allowable expenditure of £12,248. Ours will probably not even top £500.

I always feel that whatever our vote, you should double it to get a more realistic figure of how it would have been if we had a level playing field. Not being invited to several hustings for instance and the lack of a decent report or photo in the local papers. I can’t fault the TV and local radio who have given us a very fair hearing, hats off to BBC Wiltshire. As for Heart FM, someone had better tell them there is an election on tomorrow.

Then there is that comic newspaper put out by the communist Seachlight Hate not Hope organisation. Full of lies but unfortunately they are allowed to get away with it as they have the big 3 parties on their side. Let’s look at some of what they had to say:

They claim that last year I was voted off the Town Council. Strange as tonight I am chairing the Leisure Committee meeting. These people are so inept they don’t even know the difference between Corsham Town Council and Wiltshire Council.

Then there is the photo of two young boys (one of them mine) shooting, claiming it is some sort of Hiltler youth camp. It was actually at our red, white & blue family week-end and they are target shooting with .22 air rifles under the supervision of a qualified small arms instructor. The same thing army and air cadets do and what most teenage kids would love to get a chance of having a go.

Finally the hilarious England football team picture of half of the players blanked out because they are black. This was never a BNP story but something The Sun put out with a headline if the BNP get in power etc……..For those not into football, eligibility to play for a national team is not the decision of governments of political parties but that of the international football federation, FIFA. That criteria is simply that you must have been born in a country or at least have one parent or grandparent who was born in that country to play for the national team of your choice. So many players can choose between at least two nations to play for but once played you cannot switch to another. Many home nation players will find links to Ireland, Wales or Scotland while many black players will have links to England and African or Caribbean countries. For example Ashley Cole could have chosen England or Barbados. So is he English or Barbadian? Theo Walcot can choose between England and Jamaica. There are many more but I don’t see the need to go on, you get my point. Naturally the better player you are then you will choose the better national team.

We still don’t live in a free enough society where people can safely put Vote BNP signs in their windows without getting grief from their neighbours but special thanks to those who have. I feel that day is coming very soon and imagine what it will look like.

Finally thanks to my election team of leafleters in getting the message out there and it is having an effect as we are getting new enquirers every week.

Wilfred reveals his true colour

Desperate times seek desperate measures and therefore it was not surprising when the Chippenham BNP team were giving away free election specials of our Voice of Freedom newspaper in Chippenham High St that it was a bit overcrowded on political activists. Trying to woo the working classes of Chippenham by riding down the High St on a cart horse like the Lord of the Manor isn’t a good start and being accompanied by the extreme far left Socialist Workers Party (SWP), led by the obnoxious Andy Newman from Swindon handing out their own Hate not Hope newspapers is an unusual partnership. I say handing out but most were refused by passersby.

In contrast we do not force our papers on people but just set up a quiet stall and let people come to us. Come to us they did unimpressed by Wilfred’s antics on his high horse and his new red bed fellows the SWP. Picture right: Renowned Swindon anarchist Andy Newman.

Why should a Conservative have to enlist the help of a far left socialist group is clearer when you speak to current and ex conservative members. Conservatives I know personally have resigned from the party in disgust by an outsider parachuted in over local people and others who have not resigned will just not take part or vote in this election.

Such is the disaffection that my Tory sources tell me that their canvass returns are only putting Wilfred on less that 20%, far short of the target needed to beat the Lib Dems and may embarrassingly put them in third place behind the BNP or UKIP.

Questions are being asked whether Wilfred’s intention is truly for the Chippenham constituents or to boost publicity for his failing Black Farmer food range. Our people in Devon report he is not too popular with his neighbours either.

One current Tory told me “He is using the campaign to big up his brand. He is not remotely interested in what he can do for Chippenham only what Chippenham can do for him"

Certain sections of the national media are aware of this and have more information ready to dish out I am told, but there is the touchy subject of WEJ’s colour that makes it a difficult subject to cover. No-one likes being called a racist.

Save The Pub.

As a taxi driver I interact a lot with publicans and pub users. Sadly I see pubs closing all the time as going out to a pub costs more and more each day. Pubs have to compete with supermarket beer sold at rock bottom prices and although I am in favour of cheap beer, it should not be at the cost of the British pub.

The pub was the core of the community and is as British as the red telephone box and the white cliffs of Dover. The BNP is dedicated to saving the pub with a range of measures designed to give them a level playing field with the supermarket.

We aim to reduce the duty on pub beer and cider which will be funded by an increase in duty on beer and cider sold in supermarkets. Further to encourage local breweries, a pub that sells beer and cider that is brewed within 30 miles of the pub will be duty free.

We recognise that pubs are far more than drinking establishments but a hub of the community. Where a pub can show it services a community (charity fund raising, reduced cost lunches for OAP's etc) then it's business rates would be reduced to reflect those paid by community centres.

We will repeal the smoking in pubs ban and allow individual landlords the right to use a designated and ventilated smoking room.

At the Melksham hustings on Sunday I got a poor but expected reception to this from liberal Christians who make themselves feel better by putting a bit aside for the overseas aid. Duncan Hames even said it was a perfect reason not to vote BNP. On the contrary it is exactly why we should be voting BNP. The green lady, Samantha Fletcher couldn't really grasp the fact that our own people suffer too. This next video clip I will dedicate to Duncan, Samantha and all those liberals at Melksham on Sunday who thinks it is racist to care for your own people. I care.

Last nights hustings in the Corsham Community Centre went well I think. I answered all the questions and picked holes in the Lib Dems view on Afghanistan, the Taliban and Al-Quieda. More importantly I got across the reason for our troops being there as nothing to do with terrorism and more to do with the TAPI gas pipeline.

I reluctantly agreed to the pantomime of two halves, not for the benefit of the cowardly Conservative and Labour candidate but for the benefit of the people of Corsham whom I care for a lot. The people who walked out at half time, Tory and Labour supporters will vote for their party of choice based on ignorance whereas the people who stayed, about two thirds of the original audience will vote for whoever on an informed choice and you can't argue with that. I hope a video clip will follow soon.

A nice day out in Bradford on Avon today for the Michael Simpkins Road Show handing out our Voice of Freedom newspaper election special. The interest in our party in Bradford seems to come from the towns senior citizens.

£9 - Ending overseas aid which will be re-diverted to the British in need and selected genuine foreign countries who truly have a need and will not be used by their governments to wage war on their own people.
£15b - Withdrawal from the European Union subject to the will of the people in a referendum.
£.5b - Scraps the ID cards
£30b - Scrapping all EU instigated quangos such as the Regional Development Agencies.

Total savings of £85.5b without hitting any front line services. The money saved here will go into full scale building of safe British build nuclear power stations to reduce our reliance on foreign oil and gas as well as rebuilding our manufacturing industry so we can become a country of maker and sellers again instead of a country of buyers.

I don't know how tonight's Corsham hustings will go. The organisers have gone back on their word and split the proceedings in two halves with all candidates except me in the first half then when I take the stage in the second half The Conservative and Labour get up and walk out no doubt with all their supporters and I am left like an extra in a 'B' movie. Well that's not going to happen as I would like the chance to answer all questions and not just a few left overs just to appease me. So I might end up getting arrested, the whole thing may get canceled or Emmanuel-Jones and Lovell may grow up and try and defeat me in debate.

I have mentioned before my deep mistrust of the media and that was strengthened by this weeks Wiltshire Times election issue where they published the official photo's of all the candidates except mine. They had one but chose to use one at least two years old taken without my consent portraying me as some undesirable walking down a street in a football shirt. Compare for yourselves.

A prime example is look at any photo of Nick Griffin in the national media and you will always see the most unflattering photo even though better ones exist. I spotted that some time ago which made me realise what we are up against.

I carried out a brief live interview on BBC Bristol's breakfast show this morning. It was meant to be about our rise in support in Bristol having announced last week a record number of council candidates. However they changed it at the last minute to policy issues which actually suits me better. I could talk about people dying because they live in the wrong post code to get life saving cancer drugs or people living in cardboard boxes in our cities while we still pump £9billion every year to overseas aid. Instead the interviewer was more concerned about the word "indigenous". I simply said the indigenous people had white skin, it's a fact so get over it.

National media focusing on BNP candidate

BBC, ITV and C4 cameras as well as The Guardian newspaper were all outside St. Andrews Church in Chippenham Tuesday evening to hear British National Party candidate Michael Simpkins and his latest peaceful protest at the Conservative and Labour candidates' refusal to share a debating platform with him.

Strangely the Conservative Mr Emmanuel-Jones' reason is he doesn't want to make the BNP sound normal by discussing zebra crossings and pot holes. He should pay a visit to Corsham Town Council sometime where he will witness Councilor Simpkins discussing zebra crossings and pot holes along with numerous other local issues.

Michael Simpkins stressed to the media that the image and policies of the British National Party portrayed by his opponents are in fact false and more akin to far right extremist groups like the National Front who are worlds apart from The British National Party. The BNP occupies a position of moderate nationalism.

A nice day out in Melksham

Another beautiful day in Wiltshire..........whoops sounding a bit like Mr. Emmanuel-Jones there. I suppose to a new comer the beauty of our county is overwhelming and those of us who have a lived here a long time and still intend to live here after the general election is done and dusted perhaps take that beauty too much for granted. It may not be that way for ever if they get to build their extra 36,000 new homes in the county.

Yesterday was the turn of Melksham to witness the Michael Simpkins Road Show and we found a nice little sun trap right outside the Town Hall to set up our stall with lots of passing trade. It is pleasantly reassuring after all the abuse I suffer from the two big parties, churches and charities too meet people who are genuinely interested in hearing what I have to say. It makes me feel wanted again. One chap kindly donated £20 to our cause. Thank you! The day was rounded off with a leafleting and canvassing sesion around Melksham's estates and a chance to do some more talking to the people who matter.

Issues raised to me were the possible loss of the Christie Miller swimming pool and the building of new houses over previous allotment sites that has reduced Melksham's allotments quota to just 70. These are just two of the issues I will be taking up on behalf of Melksham people.

I also hear from visitors to our stall that WEJ has been busy meeting the people of Wiltshire and to be frank many of the people are glad they have had a chance to meet him face to face rather than read what he says about himself in his glossy junk mail. Arrogant seems to be the common conclusion.

Both the local Conservative and Labour associations have issued a joint statement about their non attendance at future General Election events in this area where the BNP is invited. This will certainly include the Corsham hustings on April 23rd and Melksham hustings on Apr 25th.

Quite frankly do the people of Corsham and Melksham deserve this sort of treatment. This is an important election with the result having an effect on all of us and they are using me as a political football.

It needs some old lady walking in, banging everyone's heads together and say "Stop being childish and get on with it!"

If at the end of the day Corsham doesn't go ahead I shall hire the hall myself and invite anyone who wants to come.

My sources tell me this decision was taken out of the local Labour Party hands by their HQ. However up and down the country Labour and Conservative candidates are debating with BNP candidates in hustings, which begs the question - why here?

One can only presume that maybe they don't want the public to see Mr nice guy from the BNP as that will completely throw out their age old image of thugs and racists. It has been mentioned to me many times before that I don't appear to be a stereotypical BNP member. My answer is but I am, they are all like me.

Maybe they Labour Party HQ has read my 4 point plan for bringing down our £750bn overdraft and thought yikes, you can't argue against common sense.

Credit where it is due to the Lib Dems, Greens and UKIP who as far as I am aware still wish to keep politics sensible.

Either way I feel my vote has just gone up again!

4 point plan to save £90billion

There is going to be cuts whoever gets in. The media is speculating up to 40000 public sector jobs to pay off the £750 billion overdraft the government has along with tax and NI increase and benefits frozen. Here are the BNP cuts with my explanations:

Overseas Aid. I'll start with this as I am a Christian and people will say Love your neighbour etc. Whatever an individual wants to give to charity is a private matter for them. Whatever a church wants to give to charity is a matter between the church people and God. In fact I would expect and hope my church gave to the needy at home and overseas. However if I went and put £20 in a charity box while my family went hungry, that would be wrong. Equally it would be wrong if I was affluent and didn't put money into that box. But this is government money that it hasn't got. It is borrowing to give away. If we were a rich nation where all it's people were well cared for I would be the first to say give some overseas, but that it is not the case right now, the government is broke and should put it's own house in order first. When we say Put British people first we don't mean don't give anything to others. We mean put British people first and others second. Saving £9b (All the other parties want to put it up to £13b).

Immigration. and asylum is costing this country £17 billion a year. These people need to be housed, need health care, need schooling, need interpreters. We are full up and as for paying in, remember European workers can reclaim all their tax paid if they return home for 2 months. There are enough British people out of work to fill the 1.7 million new jobs Labour has created that 98% of were filled by immigrants. If the 2.4 million unemployed don't have the skills to fill the vacancies then that is a training and education issue which we also need to address. Further all we are doing is depriving third world countries of their own skilled work force. For instance take nurses from the Philippines for an example. Don't the people of the Philippines deserve to have good nurses and is it un-christian to take them away from those people? Cast your mind back to last November and the revelation of Labours immigration scam as “mass immigration was the way that the government was going to make the UK truly multicultural” and "to rub the right’s nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date”. Saving immigration £13b asylum £4b.

Afghanistan war. We are the only party that is calling for an immediate withdrawal of our brave troops. The war has nothing to do with terrorism but the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-Indian (TAPI) gas pipe line that is planned to run right through Hellmund Province. However it needs securing otherwise the alternative is the Iranian-Pakistan-Indian (IPI) pipeline choice, but no one wants Pakistan, India and eventually Chine to be reliant on an unstable Iran for gas so the former is the preferred choice. This has no British interests other than any multi-national energy companies to profit from. It is not worth our troops dying for. Saving £5b.

European Union. No one voted for political integration with Europe in fact we defeated Hitler to avoid that. Now 80% of all UK laws are made in Brussels. We can still trade with Europe the same way Norway and Switzerland do. It was what the Common Market was all about in the referendum my parents voted in. Following a successful similar referendum we would pull out of Europe and close down all it's unelected quangos here in the UK. Saving £60b.

These measures coupled with a desire to rebuild our manufacturing base again that has turned from a country of makers and sellers into a country of buyers will be the foundations of making Britain great again and where people truly will be proud to be British.

The sun shines on the righteous

And it did today as the Michael Simpkins roadshow took to Chippenham High Street for a paper sale and leaflet hand out. I was amazed by the amount of people who came up to us to discuss policy issues and offer support. Of note was the amount of young people really interested in what I had to say, most who attended the Hardenhuish School hustings where I along with UKIP was prohibited from attending. Also a lot of Christians came and spoke to me and asked how Nationalism fits in with Christianity and I learnt some facts about the Rev. Tatton-Brown from St. Andrews Chippenham from his own flock, one being that he is an ardent Labour supporter.

The Corsham hustings later this month looks set to be a full house as people are literally gagging to hear what I have to say and what is so bad that they have been prohibited up to now. Of more worth is that it is a truly open meeting as opposed to a Church meeting or only people who believe in the climate change hoax.

Still if the schools and Church won't give me a platform at least the BBC will and I did a brief interview for BBC Points West while out on the road, there is only a short clip here but I should make a fuller appearance on Sunday's BBC Politics Show West.
