First meeting of the Council year tonight. It is when we sort out committee preferences and chairman & vice chairman etc.
I retained my place as vice chairman of the Leisure Committee as well as getting on the Forward Planning Working Group and Tourism Working Group and Sub Accounts Committee.
Of most note is that I was proposed, seconded and voted unanimously as Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. I’m dead chuffed about that.
It is a non political council although most councillors belong to one of the big 3 parties, I have to ask myself, would I have achieved this if I was still in the BNP?
Looks like a busy year ahead, little time for those forums.
